As long as he's always playing hard and smart, he's going to be helping the team out there. Its not about the scoring, its his overall game.

Chase played very well in his rookie season also...but then just went downhill from there. How do we know the same thing won't happen with Parsons? Budinger only played well when people seemed to doubt him, played with a chip on his shoulder, as if he wanted to prove people wrong that he shouldn't have slipped to the second round.

Perhaps the same thing will happen with Parsons. I won't get my hopes up --- though he did play a very good game.

Was that meant to be taken as "he's white and producing.....so naturally DD is crushing on him?

    or..

"he's white, so that is why he was undervalued and such a steal?"

One is a basketball player and the other isn't. That's it, really.

Two years ago, we were saying the same things about wanting Budinger to replace Ariza.

Chase never played d, had good vision or show good instincts. If he was not making shots then he was useless. Parsons has an all around game, I think he'll be fine.

As mentioned, Parsons can score ZERO points and still have a good game...

If he can consistently rebound and defend like this, we have a huge steal.

Chase was and always will be a backup player. So take a step back, Bud! Cos here comes Parsons! Now we can truly party!

The thing with Chase is that the style Adelman provided was exactly what he likes to do. Slash and spot up threes...It's a bit different with McHale and that why he's struggling. I hope he steps up soon and does what he does best..shoot threes and slash to the hoop

Parsons offers something Bud does not. Size, defense and rebounding. Any double figure scoring from him is an added bonus

Bud and Hill have one good game, then the fans start ranting about potential for the next 4 games where they suck. Its the circle of life for those two.

If that was the case we wouldn't have traded away Battier.

Scoring is Important part of why he is getting pt. the other stuff is huge don't get me wrong.

Exactly... I love clutchfans optimism, but hate that most clutchfans lack realism...

We wouldn't have traded Battier if he wasn't on the last year of his contract knowing that we couldn't keep him for the price we wanted to pay him. We gave up Rudy Gay for him. I think Parsons has better upside than Battier. He has more confidence and swagger and isn't afraid of the big shots. I think he's more like Horry with a motor that actually runs in the regular season. He can't jump as high or block shots like a young Horry but their games are similar.

For me with Parsons it is not about one game, but rather several, his D on Kevin Durant was fantastic, and he has been hustling all year long.

I like the way he plays with passion, this team needs that.....If he keeps playing this way, then we have another 2nd round steal.....

    Nice.

Reading through this thread leaves me in a state of amazement at the level of Clutchfan fickledom. Chase has served the Rockets well at SF, and, while I agree that Chandler Parsons seems to be the better answer at SF, Bud does not deserve the heckling I'm reading here.

I do hope Chase becomes more active on the floor instead of standing around the corners like Battier used to do. Once he starts to move all over the court, he will regain his effectiveness. He is a natural SG and IMO that's where he needs to play.

But, come on Clutchfans, let's support all the Rockets team members. Save the barbs for the opposition.

My point exactly, it's his offense that makes him intriguing. Or rather that he has both a high energy effort on both ends plus the ability to score.

But you can't judge how good someone is offensively from one or even a few games.

Chase had a similar start with a few promising games and everyone getting excited.

I agree. Chase is definitely going to take an ego hit from this, but he put himself into this situation by being passive. I think Chase has to wake up and rededicate himself and hopefully can make it a competition for the starting SF spot.

Life is a meritocracy, no one is saying Chase sucks, certainly not me.....well I guess some morons are....

Chase is a backup SF now, if he wants the job back, he has to earn it, nothing wrong with that.....

Maybe Kmart gets moved and Chase moves to the starting SG spot, it would be great to have his all around game there to compliment Parsons and Lowry....3 creators on the perimeter...OH MY !
