Their games are vastly different offfensively .... but they can both put up points. With the rules changes along with Martin not driving near as often (or being consistent from outside) he's not near as efficient - Many fewer Ft's. Lee is a solid enough outside shooter but a much better athlete. Has a midrange game that Martin seems to forget and is a much better finisher around the rim.(I think Lee has the better handles too). I really think given the opportunity Lee could put up the same type of numebers Martin is this season. Just an opinion .... I think its a wash between the two when you factor in defense and rebounding
Martin is struggling offensively but it has to do with the new system that Mchale has. With Adelman, he comes off several screens for wide open jumpers. It was a motion offense and it fit his skills nicely. But now with Mchale, he is just a spot up shooter. That is not his strength. He is not driving to the basket as much because you have either Hill or Sammy clogging the middle. Last year Hayes sets picks for him all day.
yea i agree, adelman knew how to use martin effectively. but you have to admit, right now martin doesn't have any passion and it doesn't look like he wants to play
The reason I wanted the gasol trade to go through was because I wanted the rox to start lee. The dude can flat out play D and is not a liability on offense. If only he could stay healthy...
You didnt specify who took buds spot. Ive been out of town a lot lately and I didnt know Bud was benched, so I was simply asking if it was Twill that took his spot! Maybe you should worry more about answering someones question and less about trying to sound like an *******!
current attitude? if u showed up to work, and found out your boss just traded you to a dingy local branch in the Dominican Island (not the republic)- how low do you think your morale will fall- especially after putting in some excellent work the previous year for your boss. The same boss the year before called you an asset during a season where you were close to breaking some fiscal records that would make your company look very good among other companies. look at my above reply. I think Martin really hates Morey and the Rockets now. He might be seriously depressed and disinterested in the Rox, I doubt he wants to pad up his stats, just so he can look good for another trade before the deadline. Seriously, if he was t-mac or half of the other nba divas- he would have been stirring up trouble in the media or being a locker room cancer
I'd rather trade Lee, or start him at the sf (except we have multiple taller options at that position). Forget what you heard, but players like Martin who can get easy points without the whole offense revolving around them (ball-stoppers) and who do not exhibit diva-like tendencies are not common in the NBA
i completely understand why Martin feels this way, and I don't blame him. but he needs to understand that he is in the NBA, people get traded all the time. Scola was "traded" and I don't see him making any excuses, same goes for Goran Dragic, who is having a breakout season thus far. i realize what you're saying, but Martin needs to get over it, or ask for a trade. cuz he is only hurting himself and the rockets by playing like this. and maybe you're right, maybe Martin was mistreated. but he knows the Rockets are rebuilding. when you're apart of a rebuilding team, you shouldn't be surprised if you are traded regardless of your performance in the past year. i used to love Martin, and when i learned about the Gasol trade, I was very unhappy with the fact that Martin was leaving. but the more and more I watch the Rockets, the more and more I wish that Stern didn't call off that trade.
