I think a shut out in a championship game would have been more enjoyable if the shut out came against a team with a prolific offense.

Wow, LSU was completely and totally dominated. Was Alabama that good or were they that bad? Some of both. Really embarrassing for LSU. It is one thing to lose, it is another to be humiliated. First shut out in BCS history.

And only 92 yards of offense, barely better than Kent State who only got 90 (but scored a TD). North Texas and Georgia Southern did more damage against 'Bama's D than LSU did tonight.

How the Hell did LSU go undefeated, the SEC must truly suck if people could not beat that team.

Based on some posts he's made about things in the past, I'm not quite as old as Deckard. 1977 (Portland vs. Philly) was the 2nd NBA Finals I can remember.

I think you are underestimating Alabama's Defense. The #1 rush AND pass defense in the NCAA.

It was really not much different than the 1st game they played. Bama just made their FGs this time and played solid special teams.

    ????

    21 + 0 = 21
    9 + 6 = 15

They relied on option offense as their wrinkle to throw defenses off and keep them barely honest. It can work with the athletes LSU has when teams only have a week to prepare for your offense.

However, when you give a good coach and good defense 40 whatever days to prepare against an option offense, it will be eaten alive unless it is executed perfectly which it totally was not.

Not to mention, the Bama players had seen those exact options in the LSU game a few months ago, so it is easier to react when you have already faced it.

LSU coaches lost this game by not creating any new dimensions to its offense. Imagine if they had started Lee just to throw off Bama, or had Pistol or something. They were not creative at all, and that is not how LSU wins.

if I didnt go out to the bar for that game I would have fallen a sleep on the couch watching it.

I thought LSU could lose and still get a split but you score 0 points and you have a month to prepare? Alabama is the national champ both polls IMO.. Though Okie State still deserved to be there...

Another year, another SEC title for me to hang my hat on. Tired of hearing all you Big 12'ers whine. Go watch the Longhorn Network or something. Y'all just don't "get it", that's fine, don't watch. Go watch Arena Football.

    Teeheehee.

Not quite. LSU got 240 yards last time, actually scored, and got past midfield more that once. Not that their offense was good, but they looked like the Saints compared to tonight's LSU team.

Bama had a whole month to prepare and Saban punk'd Miles. He got outcoached, plain and simple.

The LSU defense played well but were mentally discouraged because their offense couldn't do jack squat so that's why they gave up 21 points.
