Have to admit, after multiple forced listens I am becoming a Freddy Hubbard fan, but I'm starting to think of a better place for his trumpet. Give me back my computer Freddy! btw - when not listening to Freddy I'm listening to Visqueen - 'Sunset on Dateland' Just picked it up after hearing a few songs on BreakThru Radio - I like Jack Rabid's weekly show there. He is also the editor of The Big Takeover a very cool music rag. http://www.breakthruradio.com/#/post/?blog=21&post=1092

Sun Ra - Soundtrack to the Film Space Is the Place Lee "Scratch" Perry - The Return of Pipecock Jackxon
^^'Return of Pipecock Jackxon' is one of the Upsetter's better offerings. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/EHLlQMghMIU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Are You Experienced, Axis Bold as Love, Electric Ladyland, First Rays of the Rising Sun. Four better albums from one artist do not exist. Well, maybe from a few.
Yea, I had it but it was a poor, bootleg version. Was farting around on Amazon the other day and saw it had been re-released, so I got it. The recording quality is still somewhat murky (similar to Roast Fish..) but yes it is in the top 10 LSP recordings. Sun Ra - Art Forms of Dimensions Tomorrow Lee "Scratch" Perry - Blackboard Jungle Dub

Scratch was reportedly upset with the original release since the post recording work was unfinished. the Honest Jon's re-release sounds like it was taken from a worn LP. not that those are the only sound issues ... last of the Black Ark stuff, enjoy!
