1. Members of the media individually do not love him and some hate him, program directors do because the coverage means great ratings. 2. In this country the media is scared to death of saying something even remotely offensive to minority groups, religious or racial. They will be quickly fired if they do. 3. If religious, they are highly likely to be Christian. If in the same group, people feel more comfortable about making jokes. 4. Americans have more knowledge about Christianity and truly know what crosses the line, something they are much less likely to know about Islam.
It annoys the crap out of me how Tebow has to "Thank my Lord and savior Jesus Christ" in every interview. It's cool if you do it once after a game. But in ever interview? Otherwise, I'd be pulling for you. (Well, I still am, but that's because I want to be in Houston for the AFC Championship game)
Everyone is doing it and its cool at first, but the media has over hyped it...Then the CBS gameday crew doing it? Seriously? I will say he played extremely well yesterday and he and his receivers deserves all the praise...amen
that was hilarious. what was impressive is tebow's passing motiong and the spirals were better towards the end of the game. those long passes were pretty
Tebow just got a 250k bonus for the win yesterday. I hope to see the egg on Elway's face when they do make it to the AFC Championship game.
I think it would be hilarious to see an athlete say something like "I would like to thank Charles Darwin for helping me realize how important my genes are. Thanks Mom and Dad!" c
I'm ready for an athlete who is a follower of Greek Mythology. Firstly I'd liked to think Apollo for warding off Dionysus when I was in college, helping me become the man I am today.
It certainly runs contrary to Genesis, and the Abrahamic faiths, which the Genesis is a central part of.
I specifically avoid the D&D religion threads at this point...let's PLEASE not turn the freaking football thread into one about religion!
If Tebow wins the superbowl do you think Elway will project out over the PA system: "This is my beloved quarterback, in whom I am well pleased."
Considering the fact that we probably wouldn't even have a Tebow thread if not for religion, I think it's a little silly not to expect it to come up in the discussion.
Oh, don't get me wrong, I agree. Or rather, I wish it wasn't even an issue. But for the sake of your sanity, I'd say if I didn't want to hear about religion, I'd probably just avoid Tebow threads, personally. To tie this back to the thread/remain on topic, I think your statement, when turned upside down, very much encapsulates why a lot of people resent him; "I'm not sure we need opinions on Jesus every time Tebow speaks in conjunction with football, really."
you really need to quit trolling on here with your religion posts. The D&D exists for a reason. seriously.
