I think I'm going to make it to the Espanyol V Barca game. Was advised nt t wear my jesery unless I wanted to get my ass kicked. Debating whether or not I should even go...it's in Espanyol's staduim.
They goin to broadcast a lot of FA and Carlington Cup. Next week: Tuesday 20:55 Crystal Palace - Cardiff City Wednesday 20:40 Manchester City - FC Liverpool
Terrible call on Kompany, amazing how the ref got that wrong. Football really needs another ref in the booth, its time the old bags running the game realize that technology is their friend. All the acting and bad calls should not be part of the game...
Don't go in with 2 feet and then you don't give the ref an opportunity. There was no reason for him to leave his feet like that. I'm not saying he necessarily deserved a red. Contact with Nani was clearly at a minimum and he even kept his feet. I'm just saying...don't give the ref the chance to make that call.
Actually the problem with the tackle was that his studs were up and that's the no no, but he clearly got to the ball early enough where it was not going to be any danger to any other player....Nani is a great actor he would have taken advantage of the situation, if he could have but even he didn't see it as anything. A yellow card would have sufficed considering the circumstances. Anyway I'm just frustrated with the overall refereeing in the game not just that specific call. In the world cup too many calls go wrong due to players acting or just missed/bad calls. I don't want a game to be decided due to these reasons, makes for good conversation but in the end its the game that people should be talking about.
Should have been Xavi. Xavi won everything as the leader of the team. Yeah, Messi is the more spectacular guy who scores all the goals for Barcelona, but in year where the world cup took place and he got destroyed and Xavi won everything, Xavi should have gotten it.
I'll agree that the red card on Kompany was suspect...but Mancini is just acting like a spoiled little baby now... Mancini's red-card row with Rooney flares up again
