Terrible news for Thunder. http://eye-on-basketball.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/22748484/34246474?source=rss_blogs_NBA
Man, that's terrible. Don't think it will hurt the Thunder too badly though; they made Reggie Jackson shut down all of his workouts, so they were clearly super high on the guy prior to the draft; and Harden can probably do a pretty good imitation of a PG if necessary; guy is already the best passer on the team. Or maybe Dragic for Cole Aldrich?
Another question is, who will be PG during the end of 4 quarter when the game is close. We all know how westbrook handles the pressure...
Saw the injury and it really didn't look all that bad. What a bad news for OKC. They have just fired Robinson and Maynor was playing well, he was probably their 2nd best playmaker and he was making shots. I remember JVG saying (during the Dallas-OKC game) that he actually thinks they play much better with Maynor and Durant rather than Westbrook + KD. Damn, what a sad news.
It looked right away like an ACL tear judging by how his knee twisted and the amount of pain he was in. Unfortunate for him and the Thunder.
That looked like more than an ACL tear. Multiple ligaments looked destroyed on that. He'll be done for a long time.
Unfortunate for Maynor for sure. That looked painful. Possibly more minutes for Reggie......he looked good in limited action. Hopefully this means some more PT for him. Unfortunate situation, but this is why you have depth.
HELL NO! Would much rather have Jackson's defense (even as a rookie) than Nate. Maynor had been terrible this year. (I blame it on Harden completely taking over the 2nd unit.) Now, if Westbrook gets injured, the Thunder are in trouble. But, so far in his career he has been an iron man.
Since we broke your guard, let's give you Kevin Martin to make up for it. I know, I know, we're awesome.
I've gotten soft. As soon as I heard the mic pick up a 'popping' sound and saw maynor go down, I quickly changed to the saints game. I waited five minutes to flip back to the Rox game and they were still showing the replay. I flipped back to the saints game. Hope he recovers. Because I'm always thinking of others, I'm willing to give them martin and dragic for the black manu.
Heh heh heh. Can't tell if Kam's being sarcastic, but based on these two posts I'm glad I didn't see it.
Visually, it wasn't that bad, definitely not Livingston-esque. Reminds me more of Deke's injury against Portland. No contact, but my god the screams of agony...you could hear Maynor yelling "Aw f&%*, aw f*%&" and desperately grabbing at the photographers. Terrible injury though, I wish him all the best.
Terrible, he looks like a the kind of player you'd want in your young team. I hope he fully recovers and that we have still yet to see the best from him.
