What really bothers me is the fact that he is STILL on a team that is STILL playing. He should worry about the Ravens offense and not where he will be next year.

He should stop answering media questions and simply say, "Right now I'm a Texan and focusing on next week! When the season is over, then I will look at opportunituies as a head coach!"

He is kinda pissing me off.....

They definitely won't hire Mike Sherman and I doubt it's Wade either. But after Raheem Morris, they may want to err on the side of more experience.

I love Wade but he is old and he has health issues. With the way his tenure ended in Dallas i doubt the Bucs offer him the HC position.

I think you're right. This does bother me, though. Especially with the way Wade is talking about it in the media.

The Carolina game was a letdown by the entire team. So you take that game out and the defense allows 19 and 23 points. The Colts game saw a horrible performance from the offense and even worse calls by the refs late. And the team rested key players against the Titans; they weren't trying hard to win.

So I'm not buying the defense sucked when Wade was out argument. We bring in a new coach if Wade leaves, maybe they regress a little, but no way they fall back to the bottom of the pack. They're not gonna simply forget everything Wade taught them. And we have a lot better personnel than before he came.

That said I certainly don't want him to leave either and it's frustrating that only being on the job for a year, he may bolt. And it frustrates me that our local media keeps bringing this issue up, not because it gives other organizations pause, but because that's not something as a fan I want to hear in the midst of the greatest run of our young franchise. If he goes, he goes, but can we, right now, just focus on the playoffs please?

He would have the easy life if he stayed...but I guess the head coaching call is too great for some.

Just heard Charley Casserly say that the Bucs are coming to Houston to interview him for their HC position.

There is nothing to worry about. No owner is going to take a chance on a 60 year old guy coming off of major surgery.

Wade Phillips will retire a Texan.

Same could be said of Kubiak BEFORE WADE came here . . ..

    Honestly . . If I am Tampa
I would Hire Wade. . then get Sherman as Offensive Coord.

If wade leaves then the Texans should give cowher all the money he wants to be d-cord and assistant head coach.

Apparently Wade is interviewing for the Bucs position on Friday. How is it even allowed for a team to interview a coach that is under contract during the season?

Which brings me to another question, why don't teams ever try to steal head coaches from other teams if they dont have to honor their contracts.

They're not allowed unless given permission by the coaches current team and the Texans gave permission which is standard practice in the NFL.

I think it is only for superior positions

i.e. He would not be given permission for another D-Coord Position
    but Head Coach is ok

It is probably in the contract

I hope we don't lose him, but I won't hold it against him if he does leave. Can't blame a guy for wanting to be a head coach in the NFL. I just hope we could replace him with someone that would run the same system that we've run this season. It's really been fun watching the defense this year.

How much do you think is the system
    and
    how much is just WADE?

I think the players like playing for him.
