He hangs out in brothels and does major drugs. He is hung up on the girl from "A Scandal in Bohemia" and refers to her as That Woman because she pwned him. He isn't gay, that's for sure.
I was using bbc iplayer, but my Internet was slow so my viewing of the new episode was intermittent, which really ruined it for me. I'm sure if I managed to see it in one go, it would be a lot better. LOVED the Spoiler answer to the pass code at the end, didnt manage to think of that one! First episode of first season I managed to guess the murderer was a taxi driver, but this threw me.
Hounds of Baskerville next week, the most famous of the Holmes stories <iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/va8nOG00oU4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
As the episode was ending, I tried to remember if the other episodes were this damn good. I ordered the bluray for a rewatch. Whoever thought to make each episode an epic 1.5 hours, that was a great idea.
I'm sorry, I honestly don't understand what you are saying. Holmes was gay in the first episode? I don't remember a scene suggesting he was sexually attracted to men.
You watched the episode and don't get why I said he is gay. i am saying they made him gay in the first episode. Season 1 Episode 1.
They suggested that he was gay and that is what most people this day and age would deduce if they were to meet a dude like this. After watching the first episode of S2 it doesn't necessarily explain if he is or not, he could swing both ways. But it doesn't, and shouldn't matter because that episode was way better than most movies these days.
The first episode of S2 makes it seem like he was infatuated with Adler, though it would be against his personality to outwardly express this. It just doesn't seem to me like the producers of the show are trying to suggest he's gay.
In one scene, Watson asks Holmes whether he has a girlfriend. He replies: “Girlfriend, no. Not really my area.”
As in area of expertise? Even if he meant something like "area of interest" there's nothing that shows the "area" he's referring to is heterosexuality. There's plenty of evidence throughout the show to support he meant social interaction. He doesn't small talk or engage in conversation with people he can't get any information out of. Here he just seems to be an ascetic like some of the old philosophers. Everyone remembers how smart George Costanza got when he gave up sex.
