We are only 6 games into the season. 2 games under .500. As a matter of fact, right now there are only 5 teams in the west over .500. (SA, LAC, Port, Den, OKC) As we all have seen, McHale has been mixing up the rotation a bit trying to find good combinations of players. It is a painful process to watch, but it is necessary. It will take a little more time. Lets reserve on all the judgement until after they have at least played 10-15 games. We will have a better idea of what they can do. Way more than what we have seen already. There is no way you can tell how this team is going to be throughout the season. Having to read doomsday threads after every loss kinda sucks.
The Rockets as constructed not very good. That's the bottom line. No need to wait 10 - 15 games to reach judgement.
We looked lost the last two games on D. I mean we got man handled by the Lakers and Clippers. If we don't start playing some D we have absolutely no chance to go anywhere. Our offense is not as good as it was with Adelman, and our defense thus far has been worse. Without Chuck we don't have a big man to run the offense through. Both our centers are atrocious on offense, one is pretty bad on both. We need to make better rotations, stop the silly fouls, and just plain play better. On offense we are taking way too many quick shots, and for some reason allowing Hill and Dalembert touches. They have proven they are incapable of make the right play on that end of the floor, stop forcing it and only give them the ball on pick and rolls or fast break slams.
coachbadlee, you know I like you as a poster, but you don´t combat stupid negativism with super optimism. You see, when you say something like this, you have no reason to say "Having to read doomsday threads after every loss kinda sucks", because it also sucks to read someone say that we should win against the best scorer in the league when your team can´t defend Randy Foye Balance is key, even for diehard fans
Wether you guys want to admit it or not we are in Tank mode... seriously why else play Scola at C for such long periods of time play the youngsters let them develop and then trade them away.... I can see it coming a mile away
I'm a huge fan of optimism and I find when you take a step back you think "Can it get any worse than these past two games?" the answer is no. Hell no it cannot. And that's worth something I think. With that said, the Gasol/Nene thing falling through hurt us for one reason -- we had a chance to sell high on a lot of our guys. Martin, Scola, Bud, everybody really. And i think their collective value is diminishing by the minute.
Yes, i was saying, it is uncaracteristic for this team to be playing the way that they are. Seeing as they were 3rd in scoring last season. Still 7 games. If they get to 12 games and are like 4 or more below .500, then maybe we should worry.
Two things have happened that I didn't see coming...Martin and the bench. I knew the defense was a work in progress but also thought Martin's offense would keep us close in many games but without him getting calls, that isn't happening. The bench was also suppose to be a strength but with Patterson still recovering and Hill being nothing, its killing the second unit. Very worried this could get ugly quickly.
LOL..Cant you just accept the fact that we suck? Look at each loss we've had this season..they are all blow-out losses.. yea, we were playing against .500 teams..But if we were good enough, we were supposed to give them a tough ride and make their life harder instead of getting blown out every freakin time. This team is not GOOD..I hate to admit it but..
Probably not but it is still way too early to judge. Give it 20 games or the rockets fall 10 games under .500 Then we officially can say. I figured we were in tank mode when we let Hayes walk
This team looks like the worst I have seen since the pre Ralph draft, I think we won like 15 games that year.... They got nothing, especially without Kyle leading the way, their offense is horrible (Come back Rick) and their defense is worse.... Why did we sign Dalembert again? He makes ZERO difference in most games....why bother even signing him? Terrible chemistry, terrible team....yuck ! DD
Let's make t-shirts!!! These sentiments mixed in with the occasional, "come on..you can't expect the Rockets to beat good teams" comments are just a little bit short of entertaining and inspirational
Now that all of the panicking has died down, what say you all now? I made this thread in anticipation of this moment. I knew once the schedule eased up a bit, the Rockets would be able to bounce back. What i didn't anticipate happening was none of the 09ers(including Bud) really not breaking out.
