We really need a low post option other than Scola. I was hoping that Patterson would develop a post game but I haven't seen it at all. Hill + Thabeet for C Kaman s
what would our lineup look like had "the trade" gone through? Nene/Hayes/Thabeet Gasol/Patterson/Hill ????Bud/Morris/Parsons Lee/Twil Lowry/Flynn That's a strong but very expensive front court. Surely that would not have been it for Morey had it gone through. What other moves would have we made in order to become a legit championship caliber team? My guess is to consolidate the likes of Hill/Bud/TWil/Flynn for a good SF.
Heck let's try and get Iggy now in a trade involving Martin. We seriously need to improve our wing D - can't have both Martin/ Budinger on the same team! Sadly I can't see a way to negotiate a trade for Iggy centered around Budinger, so Martin + pieces it is!
This is from the realgm board by viper8382. thought it was a good trade for all sides. Lakers Receive: DJ Augustin Luis Scola (acquired with Odom TPE) Jordan Hill Hasheem Thabeet Lakers Trade: Pau Gasol Derrick Caracter 2012 Mavericks 1st Lakers Depth: Augustin / Blake / Morris Bryant / Fisher / Goudelock Barnes / MWP / Ebanks Scola / McRoberts Bynum / Hill / Thabeet Lakers Summary: The Lakers sacrifice Gasol for Scola to finally solve their PG problem. The Lakers also give up the Mavericks pick. Since this is a 4 for 2 and they already have 15 on the roster they also finally buy out Walton to free up one spot, while cutting one of the vets to free up the other. Some may argue that the value isn't great, but I would argue that this deal is a steal. On our team Gasol is currently the 3rd option. As others have pointed out, as a third option playing alongside Bynum, Gasol>Scola, while if we were talking about as a 2nd option (and 1st post option) Gasol>>>Scola. Due to our long standing PG issues I think Augustin is more than worth the downgrade and giving up the Mavericks pick. This is about salary neutral for year 1, probably adds salary for next year, but frees up a decent amount of space (depending on Augustin's extension) in the all important third year when the crazy lux tax hits. Rockets Receive: Pau Gasol Derrick Caracter Rockets Trade: Luis Scola Jordan Hill Jonny Flynn Hasheem Thabeet 2012 Knicks 1st Rockets Summary: The Rockets were giving up a lot for Gasol in the failed deal(s), but everything indicates that they no longer have interest in deals like that, but since we know they like Gasol, I don't see how they could turn this down. Gasol could start at PF with Dalembert at center, but Gasol would then log almost all of the reserve center minutes opening up playing time for Patterson. Best of all they keep Martin allowing them to compete now, but still have enough youth to build towards a bright future. I am pretty sure that this would still allow enough cap room to offer Howard a max deal. This deal may also give the Rockets the type of core that could vault Houston up to the most attractive destination. Bobcats Receive: Jonny Flynn 2012 Knicks 1st 2012 Mavericks 1st Bobcats Trade: DJ Augustin Bobcats Summary: Flynn can start until Walker is ready, then be a solid reserve. For the downgrade they pick up 2 1st rounders. I can't see them wanting to sign Augustin to an extension with Walker around, so they cash him in for multiple assets.
Flynn would just be an expiring contract because I'm sure he won't be starting over Walker, but two mid-round picks for D.J wouldn't be that bad at all. He's basically lame-ducking that position for the bobcats. Trade Goran and a future 2nd rd pick for Sessions! Lowry/ Sessions Martin/ Lee Bud/ T-will/ Parsons Gasol/ Ppat Dalmebert
yeah..i wanna get Sessions from the Cavs...at least the 2nd unit would still have a cerebral player that would organize the 2nd stringers..
Minny would be the only team willing to trade for K-Mart..hope DM can be creative if he wants to reunite him with Adelman.
Sessions, K-Mart, Bud, Scola, Varejao.... FLOP CITY ROCKS, FLOP FLOP CITY ROCKS. *tyga voice* We would attract more media attention at least.
Make a trade with the Washington Wizards I know the Wizards are god awful but they do have young talent. Outside of John Wall everyone would probably be available via trade. I'm sure we could pick some of there guys off as they are desperate to make a change before canning Flip Saunders. Discuss!
Nick Young is a talented young scorer. I'd try to go for him, McGee, or their 1st round rookie Jan Vesely.
