Well now that it appears to be coming to Sprint, technically we all will have the ability to use it on all major carriers  Unlocked HSPA+ pentaband on T-moUSA, AT&T, Simple, H20, etc... Verizon version Sprint Version
Has anyone tried NFC Tags yet? I got mine in today. I have one on my nightstand so whenever I set my phone on it, it automatically turns my ringer down, and sets my alarm for me
Honestly, if this phone had HDMI, SD card and a better battery life, id be all over it. Those aren't deal breakers but the horrible battery life might be. What's your experience with the battery life? Main reason I want to upgrade is my current phone has crappy battery life.
Battery life for me is good, but then again. I like to root my phones and use custom kernels to aid in that. LTE version out of the box is not all that great if you're a power user. What type of phone do you currently have? You can use an MHL to HDMI adapter, they do seem to be hit or miss so be sure to get one with fairly decent reviews. As for the SD card, the LTE version has the 32 gig card so it doesn't really bother me at all. Then again, I am the type to use cloud services. It's all a matter of personal preference, but you should be happy with the purchase. Someone on the board has the GSM version. I forgot their name but I'd be interested in hearing how their battery life is.
I'd go for the GS3 in that case I think 2012 is the year where Samsung sets itself apart from everyone else in the Android world. If HTC doesn't do something revolutionary, and keeps making these Sense phones, I don't see them keeping their current market share
Upgrade to the extended battery, tweak the os just a little, and the battery life is fine. Not great, mind you, but not bad either. And an HDMI dongle for the phone can be purchased on Amazon for $10. The only real limitation I've found for the phone is the lack of SD card, but even that hasn't been a big deal. I stream most everything anyway.
The beatdown started last year. Samsung is flying high and HTC is in trouble. http://www.zdnet.com/blog/btl/htc-it-can-and-will-get-worse/66385
Yeah, it did. I meant to post that Samsung will pull even further away Honestly, things kinda went downhill after the Thunderbolt IMO. Don't get me wrong, I like HTC , but recently... idk. They're phones are becoming gimmicky EVO 3D (3D) HTC Rhyme (the bracelet charm) Rezound (Phone is great, but marketing it for having Beats audio is stupid when PowerAmp is way better, imo)
I have the GSM one and battery life is abysmal so far. Checking email, browsing, and playing angry birds for 30 minutes drained it down to 75%. So that means I can only get 2 hours of actual smartphone use before it dies? (Standby time seems pretty good though). I mean, if I'm gonna have to carry around my charger then I may as well have gone with the LTE version. I am still on 4.0.1, maybe the update will help? Other than that, the phone is awesome. Love the os and the size seems perfect after initially feeling big. Just got onto TMobiles ulimited data plan for $30/ month too.
Where did you buy from? I hope they didn't send you a regional GSM Nexus. Some retailers that sold unlocked phones sent out customers versions that are meant for Italy, Greece, etc, and have not received their updates from Google. Software on these phones are signed with Samsung release keys download this https://market.android.com/details?id=de.cbruegg.officialupdate and let me know if your phone is yakjuxw. If not, maybe the update hasn't hit you yet? Have you tried going into the settings to check for an update?
I bought form expansys and it says I am on yakju and updated by Google. Under system updates it says I'm up to date. Maybe Google stopped the updates for some reason? Another issue I'm having is I can't get rid of a voicemail notification. I log into voicemail and it says I have nothing. I think it's on TMobile's end.
Then you're all gravy Sorry, didn't mean to scare you lol. Yeah, I have heard that Google did stop the update. I know 4.0.2 hit Verizon first (I'm not sure if it ever hit GSM version). That might have something to do with your battery life though. I'm currently on 4.0.3 and all is well. By the way, you guys should seriously pick up some NFC tags. They work amazingly
Any article that explain NFC tags? I'm very new to this but definitely interested. Where did you buy them?
