they still move the ball up and down. But everything just comes to a halt once they reach the red zone. The 49 ers have this same issue, only their d was able to step up for 13 games. With wade out, our d gave up some late tds.

Going to go check those stats now. =)

Here is another metric developed by Brian Billick. I wish they would stop discounting Yates, I think he and the Texans are going to shock the world. The Texans are a team, not one man but AJ will help a great deal.

Unless Yates turns out to be a big time nfl qb cant see us winning the Super Bowl. If only schaub were playing i would totally buy into this statistic.

Unfortunately, what they don't have in common with the previous 2 Super Bowl teams is momentum.

As someone already stated the 2009 Saints lost their last 3 regular season games.

The 2010 Packers went 3-3 down the stretch.
The 2007 Giants lost 2 of their last 3 games.
The 2006 Colts went 3-4 down the stretch.

Momentum is nice but can be overrated IMO.

Ziggy, someone should really point out to you that the Saints lost their last three before the playoffs in 09. Not sure why no one has said anything.

The last game they rested everyone, like us.

    What happened the previous game?

And if you don't consider what Rodgers and Brees were doing those particular years as momentum-building you're crazy.

What can the Texans ride to the playoffs right now?

    Its the defense.

That's not what GB and NO hung their hats on. I'm worried about the shift from defense to offense in the league.

To compare the Texans to those teams just seems like a reach to me, regardless of what the stats say.

If Shaub was playing... different story.

In 2009 Chargers had a 11-win streak facing the playoffs, getting the no.2 seed with a 13-3 record, and lost in their 1st playoff game.

It's a system, a system works irregardless of the facilitator. The system may work better with a facilitator less likely to cause anomalies, but the system will still work.

All this shows is how dominant the Texans were under Schaub. Football Outsiders showed the same thing.

    Yates still is no Schaub.
