What if he had just punched her? What's the difference. A basketball slammed into her face probably will leave a bigger bruise. She should just say...oh it's ok. I can walk around with a sore face and a bruise for a few days or weeks. It's ok? B.s. it is inexcusable. He deserves the fine and at least community service. I don't blame her for going after him at all. Good for her!
Up to six months. He will probably get fined for a 1000 and community service. And she will probably settle with him on damages for 20-50k. He was very stupid and should pay.
Does this mean that I can be brought up on charges for dodge ball? I agree that refs should be protected. But 6 months in jail for throwing a ball at some one? The reff should get 6 months for the bad calls!!!!
It's difficult to contain rage sometimes; still, that's what Kyle apparently failed to do here, and needs to learn to do in the future. I hope his Feb 2 (an off day) court appearance will settle this matter for him. Unfortunately, it's probably a mere preamble for Infini's civil action. I ain't sayin' she's a gold-digger...
I haven't seen any information saying where the 2nd throw hit her. It was bad judgement regardless to throw the ball at the ref even once, much less to come back to the locker room after the game and throw the ball again while she wasn't looking over a pick up summer league game. If he hit her in the head with a baseball throw at full force and close range while she wasn't looking after the game was over and they were no longer on the court then perhaps these charges aren't so trivial. I doubt he does jail time, but regardless this was a really poor decision by Lowry and the fact that it happened twice and the 2nd throw was allegedly a blind side that happened off the court makes it even worse. Either way, more information is needed.
Lowry always seemed like a "down-low" type of player... He likes too much contact and has a gayish posture when he b****ing about a call... Guess this incident pretty much clarifies my prediction.... Telling a woman, to meet me outside... Gay ****!!!!
What a crock of bull****. Batter because he threw a ball at the ref? Seriously? She is just milking some money out of him. He will probably settle out of court and this will be gone in a few weeks.
"basketball slammed into her face" ... you seem to be extrapolating from what was reported in the article. We don't know what sort of impact the ball had with her body, or if it was even painful.
We don't know that it wasn't painful either, all we know is the DA had sufficient evidence to file charges for misdemeanor battery. Lowry should face the consequences for his actions like any other citizen of this country. He got pissed, made a mistake and will pay for it....and I doubt he pays too much....it was a life lesson. I seriously doubt anyone anywhere will hold it against him, especially since he apologized pretty quickly (Does not excuse the offense but does show remorse). DD
He likes to much contact? What is wrong with you? You don't like to play ball like a man? Maybe your the one with the gayness.
Why are people even considering the fact that he may be put in jail? Athletes do worse than this ALL the time and don't see the inside of a jail cell. Stop worrying.
While I don't condone his actions, I also wonder what else was said between the two that got him to (seemingly) uncharacteristically lose his cool like this. Still, he should be a man and pay the fine and then we can all move on. In other news, Mario Elie is seeking a battery charge against Danny Ainge but its unclear if 1994 is within the statute of limitations.
