Surely you mean the Bullets Howard. In which case I kind of agree. Scola is kind of like the Juwan Howard that once played for the Washington bullets. Now if you're comparing him to the Rockets JHo...
Luis Scola this season: <table class="playerStatTable careerAvg" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr class="odd"><td class="yr">11-12</td> <td class="yr">HOU</td> <td>6</td> <td>6</td> <td>31.0</td> <td>0.537</td> <td>0.000</td> <td>0.750</td> <td>1.7</td> <td>3.5</td> <td>5.2</td> <td>1.7</td> <td>0.7</td> <td>0.2</td> <td>1.8</td> <td>2.8</td> <td>15.7</td></tr></tbody></table> Juwan Howard in HOU 05-06: <table class="playerStatTable careerAvg" border="1" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tbody><tr class="odd"><td class="yr">05-06</td> <td class="tm">HOU</td> <td>80</td> <td>80</td> <td>31.7</td> <td>0.459</td> <td>0.000</td> <td>0.806</td> <td>2.1</td> <td>4.6</td> <td>6.7</td> <td>1.4</td> <td>0.6</td> <td>0.1</td> <td>1.66</td> <td>2.94</td> <td>11.8</td></tr></tbody></table> They're around the same neighborhood.
that is because they did not seek him out in the Memphis game. that bad game. He would have had 18-20 ppg
1) 6 games into the season 2) .537 vs. .459 FG% 3) 15.7 pts vs. 11.8 pts 4) Scola has a lot more offensive moves than Howard 5) Scola doesn't bring the curse 6) Scola doesn't steal sunglasses 7) Scola doesn't spread Herpes
The comment was made on his 6 games. I've already said he's got a better face up game but they're same-y everywhere else: mid-J shot, rebounding, defense, blocking, setting pick and his stats, this season, are now actually reflecting it.
So, you're going to use six games to say that Luis Scola is at the same level of Juwan Howard at his Houston peak, with the exception of scoring at a higher pace and greater efficiency. Uh, sure. I'll look forward to your next thread, which will say Lowry was just like Alston, with the exception of his passing and ability to hit shots.
Wow the Bullets that took me back to Gheorghe Muresan when I was browsing over their roster. Who knew that Gheorghe Muresan went 14 and 10 one year? I didn't.
Scola is literally putting on a clinic, on how to post mofos up. He is one of the best offensive post players i've ever seen. Seriously, Howard could not post up as good as Scola on his best day. Dude has actually improved his post game from last year.
So far his season, yeah. He's still a better scorer because of his face-up game but, everything else, too similar to Howard, esp. now that we're not playing Adelman's sets. I think six games are already substantial. I believe most of his points have come from mid-range so far. Anyway, that's my observation. I've been mulling over the vetoed trade more and more by the day.
