Those aren't the starters. Which is who my original post was referring to.

I personally dont care what happens in games like last night where the Rockets are obviously outmatched.

On one hand, if we stink, we get to watch youngsters bloom and possibly find a new gem.

If the Rockets kick butt, then all the better. Ill sleep better at night.

This season is a win win either way.

The only bad thing that can happen is that the "young talent" on the roster turns out to not really be that talented and nobody steps up or improves and we develop a team of Andre Blatche's.

I personally am hoping for a playoff run. I think the Rockets are better off if Lowry has his first all-star year, Martin and Scola have career years, and they build around a young core for the future. Thats a better future than hoping on some draft pick to come around for years and years, but if they do turn out to stink the season up, at least we have something to look forward to for Hope.

Rudy T used to do it all the time. Pulled his starters and made them watch the rest of the game. I think it basically says you played so badly that it is not even worth playing you anymore. Let the other guys play. Gives them time to think and let their play soak in.

    The right move to make.

I said we should have kept the players who brought us back in the game in. Those players being dragic/williams/parsons/patterson/dalembert. Then you responded with "the guys who gave up 41 pts????!!!." Those guys who brought us back were not the starters.

Sorry. I thought it was implied the starters should play. The second post of this thread commented on starters as well, which is probably why I thought of starters. My bad

No kidding. I've learned no matter what, don't pick players on my fantasy team that are on the team I root for. Just doesn't ever seem to work ...

Just goes to show you that McH is very different from RA. RA would stick w/ the starters till the end ... McH isn't going to do that. Just like some of you said, to send a message, or to see what the bench guys can do after some instruction from a hall of fame big man. Whatever the reason, his heart or his shoes, he stood there on christmas eve hating the who's ... oh wait. I mean, whatever the reason, we know we'll see a lot of our young guys and that's ok with me.

15 point deficits aren't all equal. That 15 point deficit looked huge. Every starter was getting beat. There was no glimmer of hope at all. I think McHale pulled the starters with an eye for the next game, but also gave the back ups a chance to bring the game back, as sometimes happens in games like that. When it didn't, the starters didn't come back, and the bench guys got in some reps. Better case than wearing out starters only to lose.
