Logitech Calls Google TV a 'Big Mistake' Logitech CEO Guerrino De Luca spoke bluntly about Google TV yesterday, referring to it as a 'beta' product and saying that relying on it for the Revue set-top boxes was a mistake. Logitech will stop production of the Revue, and plans to implement significant price cuts to get rid of their remaining inventory. 'He said there are "no plans to introduce another box to replace Revue." Further, he predicted that the "grandchild of Google TV" might succeed but not the current product. For now, that leaves Sony televisions with the Google software for people looking for the Google TV experience. Related ... Yeah so I heard. Kinda sucks since I actually enjoy my Google TV and this is without the update to Honeycomb. I guess at $300 it was an epic fail but at $99, it's pretty cool. Being able to control my devices with my cell phone alone makes it worth it to me
The $35 Raspberry Pi can be the game changer. We might see ISP provided IPTV finally take off globally which is used in Europe and popular in Russia. If Boxee or Google TV port their software to ARM that's a $35 media player but they still need the content.

I freaking love my Sony google TV. It's amazing for the bedroom. Heck, sometimes when I can't get the Rockets on League Pass I streamed from it.
Yup, and while I think that Google totally messed up Google TV. The Honeycomb update the devices got is actually quite good. I don't have the Sony device, but have the Revue, and it's great.
I was on the fence about buying that for the living room. It's great, but I have the xbox Kinect there so I figured it could do a lot of what the Google TV does. No interweb streaming, but it still does the job.
That's cool, I've yet to try the kinect. I used to be a big fan of Boxee but what I really enjoy about Google TV is being able to use my phone as a remote (even has an iOS app), along with the Android market.
Yeah WP7 has a nice Xbox Companion app too, which is really awesome. I think they need to export it out to all OSs. I wish they had a google TV remote app for my WP7 phone.
I have the Focus S. I really wanted to go with a Nokia but I couldn't wait any longer. Honestly, I like my focus so much it makes me wonder how the Galaxy series phones are.
Gotta love Samsung, I like that phone. It's 99 cents on contract now I know the 50,000 app milestone just got reached. how do you like the app selection?
