It's not that late, but by 2013, Verizon is going to cover a huge majority of the country. AT&T also expects to have a major foot print by 2013, they even announced 11 new markets today. I think this is good for Sprint, but their roll-out might be significantly slow. I am also still unsure as to what spectrum they will be using in these markets. Especially with Lightsquared having GPS interference issues.
they are using 1900mhz now right? with maybe lightsquared's 1600? aren't they getting 800mhz when they switch off iDEN?
See, that's the thing. They have spectrum, but I'm unsure of which one they will use, and if phones are going to support all of them. Lightsquared has the possibility of just closing shop due to it's issues with the FCC. I do know that they do have plans of using the 800mhz once iDEN is shut off, so that is pretty much confirmed.
you know consumers won't want LTE till iphones have it. then no one will buy a phone without LTE. haha.

By the time it launches it'll be a coaster. Samsung has quad-core processor, light sabre phones on the horizon.
My recent and ongoing nightmare with Sprint thinks unlimited data will be unlikely by the time they roll out their pos system.
