Warrior - 9/10 Absolutely loved the ending montage. I don't think it could have been done any better.

MI4 - 9/10 Total kick-@ss action flick. I had been looking for a movie like this. I don't remember viewing such a good action film since True Lies.

    Straw Dogs (2011 version)

    6/10

It was a good movie, like the original, I just have a hard time watching rape scenes. They make me uneasy. :(

The latest Sherlock Holmes movie. It's an action flick, which I am having a hard time getting used to. The main character simply isn't the Sherlock Holmes I'm comfortable with, although I am a huge fan of the actor who plays him. I enjoy Law's version of Watson far more than I do Downey's version of Holmes. (not Downey's fault, of course, but the director's) To sum it up, they need less action and more mystery.

I have yet to see it, but I thought the movie was really confusing? At least I heard the plot was difficult to follow.

MI4 - 7/10. Not bad, worth seeing for sure. Action scenes are pretty awesome, but the movie is nothing more than a simple action flick.

Captain America - 2/10. Rented it last night. Terrible, just terrible.

    In Time 7/10.

It's not the most intelligent script but this movie is very entertaining and has touching moments that you remember for some time. Think it's slightly underrated.

Not confusing all that much, but rather you are left saying, "Why? I thought this was a Sherlock Holmes flick?" Why, as in, "Why did you go there?"

I thought Sherlock Holmes was pretty good. Some people don't like guy Ritchie films, but I think they're entertaining.

    Shame (2011)

    5.0/10

A visually exquisite movie is marred by really slow pacing and a lack of empathy for the characters.

Fassbender plays a sex addict who tries to adjust to the sudden arrival of his sister in NYC. I liked certain moments like the protagonist's first date and the resulting conversation, but unfortunately the director added too many slow sequences such as jogging at night, staring outside windows, slamming doors, and having a woman sing an entire song at a snail's tempo. Also, the audience is as detached and distant from the movie as Fassbender's character is towards the numerous woman he sleeps with. By the time the credits roll, you wonder if you should feel sad.

I'm disappointed at how so many critics and movie sites have this rated so high.

Funny that you mention Drive. That movie also featured Carey Mulligan and it had a similar pace, yet I really liked Drive. I also liked other slow movies like Dead Man, Barry Lyndon, Assassination Of Jesse James, and Stalker.

Pacing isn't the issue. It's just used in the wrong way in Shame.

I loved Barry Lyndon, one of my faves of all time.

What a shame... I was excited for Shame.

No. You should give Shame a chance. There's too many positive reviews for you to pass it up. FWIW, I didn't think Aronofsky's Black Swan was the psychological thriller/masterpiece it was hyped to be. I thought it was a good example of the emperor having no clothes.
