Only 25 if he where 29 or even 28 then I would say do it but Lowry is young, talented and a very strong piece to use a building block. If Lowry is Legit then we will have 6-7 more years of this play. If you are able to suck enough to get a top 3 pick and then have Knicks pick, a pick for Martin and another for Scola I am sure you could create a package with those picks (not all) and player to move into the top 5-8. That could get you good quick.
This team is screaming for better defense. No Battier, no Hayes and lacking a proper big body in the lane. We won't go anywhere without defense. I look at Kmart and this man doesn't know the concept of contesting a layup or blocking a shot. Courtney Lee likes to be caught out of position while his man is open in the corner for a three. Jordan Hill and Hasheem Thabeet are SOFT. And probably worst of all, Patrick Patterson is a tumour to this team. His only offensive arsenal is back downing his defensive player and taking a challenged fadeaway. He's offensively stunted. The only way we'll win games this season is if we cross our fingers and rain three's, and then make sure they don't have a big man who can brutalise Jordan Hill and Chandler Parsons down in the post.
We've got Lowry locked up for 3 years, and he's worth probably twice as much as what hes' earning. He's clearly the best player on the team, and he's getting better. Really, that's the guy you want to trade?
Didn't see the game, I'm glad turned out to be lob city after all. Tell me this though: why did Sammy only get 12 mins ?? Seems like McHale gave up early on this game..
to defend the rockets, because all i hear is how bad they suck (i'll admit i'm guilty of going off on them too) but i'm sick of hearing people say that patrick patterson sucks and this and that. he's coming off of an injury for god's sake. look at that video of chandler parson's put back dunk over blake griffin. now watch the pick that p-pat set for martin. i know it's just a pick but it was a damn nice one. little things like that go a long way and are a very important part of getting people open for a shot. and towards the end of the game he hit that sweet hook shot off of the glass and sunk in a couple of nice mid range jumpers. wait until he's fully healed and back in shape. he's going to be a monster just watch.
Haha priceless:grin:, for some I can actually picture them saying something like that though Hasheem & Dragic speak good English. I like how Dalembert said no excuses and did not agree to any plan at the end, he almost started a fight with Griffin because he wasn't having any of that lob city stuff! Anybody have a video of that small altercation ?
Clippers shot 57% for the game and Rockets back-to back blowout games = dissension among us. On 3 days rest for the Clippers, no doubt they had the jump on their legs last night. They jumped all over the Rocks which didn't surprise me, but I'm surprised that we let them do whatever they want to and we played selfishly. Clippers had 30 assists, Rocks only managed 15 which is okay, but we won't win if the other teams pass a lot more than we do. What the Rocks need to do is insert Dalembert and Parsons into the starting role, currently we have 2 players who doesn't seem have the fire to be in the starting lineup. Don't push panic button yet until we lose the next 2 games and by how much of a margin.
THere are so many pissed off people on this thread as if they expected us to be a team that could compete with the best in the west. I'm suprised after all this talk about we should tank and the season has no hope. The reality is there will be nights like this and probably way too many of them. But I wouldn't be suprised if the rockets faced the clippers in toyota center and blew them out by 20 points where are defense is incredible. This is a team that is young, inexperienced, and doesn't know how to play consistently. Pretty much, they are a 7 - 10the seed team in the west. This is the type of team we been since 2009. Were going 3 years straight now with the type of team that is very inconsistent but certainly capable of beating the best teams, they just won't do it consistently and will have many stretches of poor play. You will see maybe a couple of 4 to 5 game winning streaks that will give people hope, you will even see a month where they go 12 - 3 or something like that, but in the end it results in a mediocre record. I completely expected tonight being away from home, on a back to back, against a very athletic team we would get blown out. It's no excuse, it's just who we are.
Martin vs. KD, Bron, Melo, Gay, Granger, Iggy, Wallace, George,... We'd get a shot at Drummond at least, so why not do it.
