Allow me to list: Lost Anything that has been on the Sci-Fi channel since Farscape was cancelled 30 Rock The Office Always Sunny in Philadelphia Burn Notice Tougher in Alaska Myth Busters The Mentalist (Psych rip off) CSI and it's many ilk
Hate all you want: inexpensive name recognition and that weird 40-something male bachelor/hot-wife escapism is worth at least 2 or 3 seasons. And good call on getting Cheech: consequence-free ethnic humor is like p*rn for middle-aged, middle-Americans.
Psych is endearing as heck, but possibly unwatchable for anyone over 35. And I like Simon Baker and Robin Tunney enough to want them to have steady work.
I thought Whitney and new girl were the same show. You can tell I hate my teenage daughter is going to blow and be canceled. I tend to hate anything on cbs abc cw fox.
That show makes no sense. No one in her family is severly overweight or wearing a t-shirt at the party. That said, I think this is being marketed toward Mexicans for the "Oh, look at that square white guy scared by all the Mexicans". That being said I will watch the show.
A good rule of thumb is, if TBS would have it on half the screen with the sound off in reruns, it probably shouldn't be used as a criticism of the show.
Great response. You wrote everything I wanted to say about those two shows in response to his initial post.
Good call. I tuned in just to see how Applegate is looking these days (she's still beautiful, btw), and ended up really liking it. I've always thought Maya Rudolph was an underrated SNL cast member and she's pretty funny on this show. It's a pretty good vehicle for her. No surprise that Lorne Michaels is behind it. As far as bad shows go, what about the 12 different Kardashian shows? Are they just so GOD AWFUL that it's too obvious to mention?
Mine too. I love me some new girl. I'll also thrown in with Whitney. I don't really care about Whitney or her boyfriend, but I love the blonde chick, the cop and the Indian.
I don't feel like reality shows are worth mentioning. They're all hot garbage. Scripted drama that is supposed to be real but comes across as incredibly forced. Reality tv is the pro wrestling of this generation. As long as you don't think too hard about it you can believe it's real. If you start asking yourselves questions like "why would Person A say/do something they don't want Person B to know about in front of a camera that is filming them for a tv show?" then the whole thing falls apart.
Rob Schneider, Whitney Cummings, and Zooey Deschanel in a new series where they get stoned to death...
That's a rule of thumb? Aren't rules of thunb supposed to be general, common, wisdom. listen like community if you like it. but defending the show like it's the cosby show or all in the family is a bit nuts. the quirky show is so mass marketed these days that when fanboys defend them as higher intellectual entertainment and rag on others who like new girl or regular sitcoms, i think it is ridiculous. You guys don't seem to realize that you aren't apart of a counter culture movement anymore. It's almost the same as people who buy apple products just so they can feel like hipsters. good television in my opinion today is like the walking dead, american horror story. if people have beef with these shows it's more because they don't like them, not because they aren't quality tv.
