People need to stop trying to play coach and let the guy do his thing. Much like before with early on with Aaron Brooks. People complained constantly that he wasn't passing the ball enough and that he wasn't a true PF. When Adelman let Brooks play and be who he was, started playing better overall and the team benefited from it.
Parsons shooting has been better than any SF on this team so far and don't forget that after tonights game this is the 2nd time this year that he has been the Rockets leading rebounder in a game! Parsons is a good passer and has better height than TWill, Budd, or even Patterson for that matter (closer to 6'10 than 6'9)...he can cut to the basket, shoot the 3, or knock down midrange shot...I like TWill and Budd but you gotta give it to the person who is playing better even if he is a rookie
Can he guard 3s, though? Don't know if he has the build to play the four full-time. Maybe he becomes a Ryan Anderson type?
Sure, his defense isn't anything to write home about, but it's certainly better than several above him in the rotation.
You talk about people trashing him either way and that's true, some people do. But I have an analogy for you: Terrence Williams is trying to establish himself in this league, and I will compare that to trying to learn to drive. At first, you think the gas should be pressed every time the car is moving so you end-up going faster than you should, and that's Williams when he first got here. Then you realize you have to tone it down a little, you drop the gas but then you go slower than needed (That's Williams right now). At last, you finally find that sweet spot between knowing when to use the gas, when to just drop it and knowing when to switch to the brakes. That's the stage where Williams needs to arrive next. I hope he's listening to the horns of those behind him, time to go.
Yeah he is a legit SF...I watched his college career at Florida (fav college team)...he played small forward in college, he has the speed to guard 3's and showed good footwork...
You don't follow the team everywhere and watch their practices. I'd rather take other people's word who have an inside scoop and actually sees them play everyday than take your word.
I've said this before. Forget about him being a factor on offense. His faster way unto the starting line-up is by converting himself in the designated go-to wing defender. He's got all the tools and an advantage over his competition. Has he distanced himself from our mediocre defenders? Not at all, not yet.
If he can do that then he is going to have a long career in this league. What about his shot? Did he show improvement over the years at college?
Twill needs to play Von Wafer's role when he was with us. Just shoot 3's and drive to the hoop. Anything else he does is usually a bad play except for the occasional decent pass. Twill is great at getting to the rim but plz stop trying to play PG
Terrence can't dribble or finish with his left hand against an NBA defense. He'll never be anything more than a spot minute player until that changes. Unfortunately, it's basically unheard of for players to make notable improvements to their dribbling once they're in the league. You can either handle the rock, or you can't.
He improved every year till his last year he dropped a point per but his 3 point shot improved...his form is very good as a shooter and he is good cutter but his biggest knock was that he wasn't as aggressive as he should have been (everyone wanted him shoot more than he did)...he was the gators leading rebounder and assist guy! SEC player of the year and a great point forward at the college level
Twill basically seems to have two modes: 1) take his guy off the dribble and try to score himself or 2) pass it right back to Lowry like a hot potato. I would like to see him try to be more aggressive as a playmaker so that when he gets the ball, he tries to drive to take the shot or draw the foul if he beats his guy or find the open guy once they collapse on him. The problem is that when he takes it to the hole, 1) it's rare and 2) it looks like he's already made up his mind what he's going to do without reading what the defense is giving him.

Also (3), make the unnecessarily hard-to-catch pass that often catches both the opponent and his teammates off guard.
