I would like everyone's opinion on this story. Plus you get to play a cop

Did the cop actually side with the manager or did she just explain to the lady that he couldn't force the man to give her the pet back unless she paid?

from the cops point of view....he doesn't know who is right. And probably doesn't care. He can't really override a proposed charge, so he says to just pay it. She's free to dispute it later if she chooses. He just wants out of there. Not interested in playing Judge Judy.

The clinic is beyond shortsighted. If they want to implement this fee (which does make sense) they should have an unstated 5 minute grace period.

I know it is not really all that important (maybe it is to the manager, and that's why the charge), but I said it was 2 minutes before 5, because I will quote what you stated initially, sir :p :
And, please... answer the other question... if you don't mind... what did you mean with "given the manager, I wouldn't put it past her"?

How would your friend get fired if you posted the name of the place? I doubt anyone's going to call the place and lecture them on how to provide better customer service, but you can save fellow Clutchfans from having to deal with that place.

How about this, if you don't tell us, I'll never take my dog to the vet again and it will die. Why do you want my dog to die? ;)

(also in response to Swoly's question)

It's pretty evident that his friend is a subordinate of the manager. If this thread comes back to the manager, it will be clear to the manager who told the story. The result would be that the OP's friend would be fired.

Right, but are posters really going to call the place and say "this poster named Ras137 on a basketball website named Clutchfans has a friend that works there and she told him how terrible y'all are about keeping time"?

I mean that if the manager saw this story on here and knew who told the story to me, she would fire the one who told me the story or at least make their life hell. Let's just say the manager is very forceful.

If Ras137 were to post the name of the place, this thread would show up in Google search results when people are looking for the name of the place. Sooner or later, the thread would come to the manager's attention.

But the manager is not the owner? Then maybe one should somehow tattle-tell about the manager to the owner?

Doubtful. But if that is a concern, just say it rhymes with something. Or separate the word like instead of Worst ****ing Vet Ever, he could put wor st fu **ing v et ev er.

Someone just PM the got-dang name of the place.

I'll say its on the NW side but on the other hand, I actually do recommend the the place. The person I know has worked in several vets before and this is the best facility and second best doctor they have worked for. The manager is just a b*itch and unfortunately (from what I understand) has the Vet (who is also the owner) wrapped around her finger.

there is no late fee, but i work in retail, and this ***** happens all the time, and i hate it. people walk in the store at 9 saying its 8:59. we have to go according to our store clock, we want to get out of there, and we have stuff to do, like close down the registers and count them.

so i have to side with the manager

I see what you mean, but I feel that's different though. What inconvenience is the person picking up their dog causing to the business by showing up before the specified time that warrants a "late fee" ?

If anything, it was more of an inconvenience to the business to call the cops, and argue over $25.
