Seriously, a few years ago, i thought this guy was extremely under rated, and now, he seems as if he was only trying before just so he could get a huge contract. He is absolutely NOT playing up to how much much dough he got paid. He seems like a lazy guy who doesn't really care anymore.:(

They need to amnesty his ass, cut their losses and move on. He's not worth it at all. They're going to be stuck as 2nd rd exits at best with him and his awful contract.

    Might go out like Carter.

No injuries that severely affected your game, just started to run out of fuel. Carter was averaging 20-5-5 before he rapidly became a mediocre player.

Same might go for Johnson as well, was averaging 20-5-5 as well a couple of years back and now he's rapidly becoming a not-so-special player.

Same thing that happened to Rashard Lewis. A player that was good, but not great, got paid like a franchise player, which he never was, then regressed.

Last I recall, he played some fantastic defense the other night against the Heat.

He is a fine player who is slightly struggling with his shot...

As of right now he needs to be on one of the all-defensive teams though. Fantastic defender...

I thought he was pretty overrated in his last year with the Suns.

By the way some people talked about them way back then, JJ and QRich seemed destined for superstardom. Or at least just JJ.

Hawks fault. They paid him max money. He's not worth max money.

I always thought he was overrated. He owes half his paycheck to Steve Nash for making him look that good in his contract year with the Suns.

Joe Johnson is a great player. No doubt he could be a superstar if he was properly motivated.

lol...he is not a "great" player. He is a borderline all star. And if you can't motivate yourself to win, then you aint great either.

Usually those guys people think are "extremely underrated" never turn out to be great players. If a guy was a franchise player that can lead a team to a championship, you usually know it very early on in their career.

Why? He had his best season with the Hawks and some other pretty good ones. Joe Johnson has always been a guy that can create for himself. The guys that owe their careers to Nash or those stand still shooters like James Jones...well, them and Mike Dantoni.

This is true. JJ didn't truly breakout and become a "star" until he became a Hawk.
