I like that Oski. Reminds me a little of Dream Syndicate.

I think I've watched this like 30 or 40 times today. I'm obsessed. The growling tone that Peter Green gets (not the lead guy with the P-90's on his Les Paul but the lower part) is pretty close to what I'd describe as my absolute perfect rock guitar tone.

How do you start out doing this and end up doing "Landslide" with Stevie Nicks? That is called bottoming out. It's like Jefferson Airplane ending up as Starship, doing "We built this City". Yuck.

I think that's the Les Paul he sold to Gary Moore. That guitar is legendary.

Now you're getting into the later really amazing church, this one has some heavy memories attached to it, and singer Steve Kilbey was just about done with the H by this time, just. Next lp Forget Yourself is one of my faves, they went with versions of the songs that were still very fresh, first or second time playing them, instead of going back and over-dubbing the tracks. Production isn't as good as it could have been, it sounds too digital but live versions are just jaw droppingly great.

Otomon, I'm a little confused. P90s are the soap-bar pickups right? Isn't Peter Green the blond hair guy playing that guitar?

The blonde cat is Danny Kirwan, a superb guitarist himself, but not in Green's class. I saw Peter Green, Kirwan, and the group in December of 1968, at the Music Hall. In some ways, the later Fleetwood Mac (after Green) was a different band altogether. The 1968 version that I saw was the best, in my opinion. Oh, and by all accounts, Kirwan was an ass.

On New Years Eve I watched a Lindsey Buckingham solo concert on PBS and asked myself the same thing. I decided that night after listening to Lindsey 'rap' between songs that he must be the world's #1 dick and egomaniac. But grudgingly I have to say even if his style is not my preference he is hugely talented and probably should be pretty far up in the Top 100 Guitarist list.

So, I read the Fleetwood Mac history on Wikki. I highly recommend the read, it is a bizarre tale of how it got down to just Mick Fleetwood owning the band name and hooking up with Buckingham Nicks while they were at the same studio in LA. It was at the beginning of the Disco and cocaine years, and Mick was coming off a failed blues band experience so I guess the musical 'veer' was understandable. Blues wasn't selling and all that coke wasn't cheap.

My bad, ottomon. You and Deckard got it right. I had forgotten all about Kirwan (he wrote some good songs) and got them crossed over the years.

Just got a remastered Dutch import of Here come the Warm Jets by Eno in the mail. My old vinyl is long gone and have not heard it in a long time.

Yeah Manny, the song for those of you that like it is called delphia. Also for some reason, this song is playing automatically when the thread is clicked into.

To hear the song make sure you pause manny's reply or it will song like gibberish.

The whole album is actually awesome.

Agreed. It is my favorite Hubbard album out of 6 or 7 of them.
