I saw it today. Missed the first 10 mins of it but I thought it was good. I had no idea what she was doing at the end dressing up as a blond but I liked it. And fyi there is also a nude verison of the movie poster. Its awesome. Its my new wall paper.
My girlfriend forced me to read the book before letting me see the movie, I'm glad I did. If I hadn't, I'd have been really lost during the plot. And that 5 minutes of CGI to open the show might have been the best 3D work I have ever seen. Oh and Trent Reznor did a brilliant job once again.
noomi rapace and the swedish version is much better imo. i do not like rooney mara, she may be a good actress but she sure came off like an entitled b**** on the press tour. no sense of humor, just slamming all of her earlier roles. i think her sister is prettier, just as talented and doesn't come off like a douche.
I know what you mean just saw the Letterman interview. But I mean she did grow up in a wealthy family so it makes sense I guess.
I don't understand this. Who cares about her public appearances? If she can act, then she can act. I don't care how many times von Trier praises Hitler. As long as he keeps making Melancholia-level masterpieces, we're cool.
I haven't read any of the books, but I have seen the original Swedish film (all three are on Netflix streaming) and really enjoyed it. I have yet to see the US remake, but I'm interested to see what they've done with it.
gotta say the swedish one is better. the sequels are not near as good as the first one but for the first one, swedish one is just better i feel
Huh... this is interesting. I was just looking at the film descriptions again on Netflix and realized that they've now created a kind of extended cut miniseries of all three films. Instead of three films of roughly 2.5 hours each, each film has been split in half while having extra scenes added to create a mini-series of six 90-minute episodes. The Miniseries on Netflix Streaming The Miniseries on Amazon For some reason I hadn't watched the other two films yet. But now that the whole thing has this extended treatment, it seems like the perfect time. By all accounts I've read, it's better now than it was before. Given the size of the books, I'm hardly surprised... 700-page books can always use more breathing room on screen. Tomorrow's Saturday... I'm smelling a marathon.
Here is a VFX breakdown of the title sequence: http://www.artofthetitle.com/2012/02/21/the-girl-with-the-dragon-tattoo/
Just watched this last night. AWESOME movie except the ending was like the movie that never ends. Other than that, the meat of the movie is top notch. The stick in the anus kicking thing wasn't cool though.
They shoulda picked someone else to play the bad guy though, that dude has never played a good guy character in his life
