I asked this in another iphone thread and didn't get an answer... Does jailbreaking the phone give you access to the music files? I'm kind of stuck with the music I have on my phone being only there because I've gotten a new computer at work. I've already done the trick to change the itunes key in the new computer, but it will still erase what's on my phone if I sync it. I have a good feeling my company is going to get us new phones in the near future and I don't want to lose all the music i have on here.
I believe so, I think there are even some non jailbreak options. You no longer have access to the old computer? Sometimes they are still saved in the directory depending on how you loaded them into iTunes.
If the music on your phone was purchased via iTunes, you should be able to load it back onto a different computer (check out transfer purchases from iPod via iTunes). This may only apply to music you actually purchased directly from your iPod, however. I believe there are programs such as Tune Ranger that will transfer music from an iPod to a computer.
Most of it was purchased via itunes...hence my problem. Looks like the CopyTrans Manager Xerobull mentioned is going to do what i need. Thanks for the help...
ditto...i use copytrans manager to upload podcasts at work onto my iphone for my trip home every night... works really well.
New NBA Jam update apparently adds wifi/bt multiplayer. Kinda funny, with this and the roster update it looks like the mobile version is getting better support than the console editions.
True, it's my favorite game on the iPad, hands down. The Heat (LeBron & Wade), Magic (Dwight & JRich), and Thunder (KD & Westbrook) are down right nasty!
If you're jailbroken, you have to get Speed Intensifier. It essentially allows you control over visual enhancements. See video: <iframe title="YouTube video player" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/ACQxiMqpRjc" allowfullscreen="" frameborder="0" height="390" width="640"></iframe> Short version: -Add this repo: repo.insanelyi.com -Search for Speed Intensifier -Install, respring. -You will find the interface under settings. I'd put the speed to around 3 or 4 (don't mess with the slide bar). Also remove animations. Respring with SBS settings. -Join the rest of the world in loving and adoring me.
HBO Go app is out. If you are a subscriber and have one of the supported carriers, you can access HBO content on the phone or tablet. Supposedly has a lot of HBO series available with full season. Like Curb Your Enthusiasm, for example. http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/hbo-go/id429775439?mt=8 EDIT: Just got it d'loaded and I'm pretty impressed with the selection so far. Entire run of The Wire, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Sopranos, Band of Brothers, etc. etc. Nice.
Question: My Iphone right now is version 4.2.1 and there's a optional update to 4.3.1 on Itunes. Should I update it? I'm hesitant because I've been hearing that the more I update the slower my 3gs could get. Btw does anyone have Chaos Rings? How come my game has no sound effects (when its hitting an enemy or getting hit) does this have to do with my version IOS? Thanks.
saw the must have android apps thread near the top, thought i'd search and bump this thread. anybody find/have any must have apps in the recent months?
Best App for Iphone hands down is Mymedia. check it out...free music and movie downloads straight onto your phone. FREE in the AppStore
If you are looking for a good navigation solution, check out Waze. Navigation with voice, community based so people can put down alerts like speed traps, and it's free. Not bad. Also recently started using Instacast, maintains podcast subscriptions, updates and streams. You can manage podcasts without iTunes. Pretty nice.
Bump... Just ditched Android and got my first iPhone for Christmas. I like it but it seems like Android had TONS more free apps and I'm having trouble finding comparable iPhone apps that don't cost money. Good free media player (just want to play mp3's and have it pick up where it left off if I pause it and start it again the next day). Good free app to store ID's and passwords. Good free app organizer. Seems kind of hard to organize your home screen(s) the way you want to. Finance apps on one screen, games on another, etc. Something similar to the Android app "MightyText" where you can send and receive texts on your computer instead of your phone.
As far as I know, nothing of this nature exists on the iPhone. Correct me if I am wrong. Btw, he's talking about being able to send/receive message on his computer using his OWN phone number, and it syncs to his contacts, and inbox threads of the phone.
