It's between these two. D'Antoni might get a little slack because Amare is hurt. Westphal might get some because firing him now will make it appear Kings management rewarded Cousins' tantrum. IMO, the Kings are wasting precious time each and every game they keep Westphal. He should have been fired last season. I don't think the Knicks will fire D'Antoni imminently.
Lowry is over 30? And Scola's age really doesn't matter, his game is not based on athleticism it's more of his movement and footwork so it's a moot point regarding him. Who else?.... Sammy D.... he's a role player on a good team, not great, not bad but pretty good.
Father time wins all battles. Scola will slow down pretty soon, regardless of how little athleticism plays a part in his game. Martin is closing in on 30 as well. 2 of the 3 top players are close to or over 30 and the team isn't really a playoff contender much less a championship contender. Yea....things don't look too good, not to bad, but not too go. **** As far as coaches go. Del Negro, McHale, Pringles Guy, Van Gundy
Saunders. The right coach can do John Wall wonders i.e. what George Karl did for Gary Payton. And my dark horse pick (bad pun alert): Spoiler Erik Spoelstra. I know he got a contract extension, but because of who is team president, and who he coaches, even tho he's not on the hot seat, it can heat up quick with any losing streak.
What are ya'll thinking with McHale? After just dumping hall-of-fame coach Rick Adelman to pick him up it would be a professional and franchise embarassment to fire McHale so early. Especially given Morey's plans to reform coaching to integrate the minor league team and focus on player development. No way he's fired first. And no way he's fired at all this season. And probably not next offseason either.
Westphal - The guy has lost control of his team. Flip Saunders - No wins yet, worse team in the league right now
Lets hope D'Antoni is fired AFTER this season. Our pick will be better with a r****d running that team!
I know Dalembert's been really good, but it's a bit early to call him a key player already. And you're obviously talking about him since he and Scola are the only ones over 30.
McHale will not be the first coach fired. Come one guys.. they will at least give him the year to coach and maybe another year. I say Westphal or D'Antoni are the first to go.
