Well maybe after some time in the D-league he can get busy on that Superstar thing.

BTW, just busting his chops, I still hope that CX is right and that Morris becomes the player he thinks he will be.

DD what are you talking about? Marcussoris has been a beast off the bench, averaging 500 claps per game and 25 high fives to go along with that

I don't think I'm nitpicking when I say this, but "franchise player" != "superstar", at least in my dictionary.

Anyways, I still think he can get there, but as emphasized in the OP, transitioning to the SF spot will be instrumental in him reaching his potential. Otherwise it is just a ho hum 14th pick.

The skills are there, but mentally he is a deer in headlights right now. Need reps to get accustomed to the schemes, and just running out there on the wing for mental conditioning.

Clearly I overestimated how ready he was to transition to the 3. But as long as he can, eventually, the upside remains the same. I am still optimistic. Good luck at RGV.

He hasn't gotten a chance... Unfortunately we already have Go-TO scorers at the wing(Martin) and the post (Scola)... On a team missing one or the other (More likely the wing) Marcus would have a much better chance of success...

If he doesn't I blame Morey for picking a player we couldn't work into the system. This might be a case where picking superior talent doesn't yield the best results. Same with PatPat.

It works if he lands a big trade.(Just like all of Morey's moves) We've got a lot of depth, and if we traded away 4 guys that play key roles, we have quality players from 7-11 to make up the loss plus whatever player they bring in the deal. A lot of Morey's gameplan is to have talent at the end of the bench.(although, for the most part that talent is going to sit.)

This clearly looks to be the main problem. If you look at it realistically, it's really impossible to expect someone who played PF at college to just adjust immediately to SF, even if he has the athleticism to do so. So the fact that he started much more slowly than someone like Parsons should've been expected.

He might actually need more time in the D league than Landry, Brooks, or Patterson. He may need a lot of minutes just to get himself accustom to the new position. I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't truly contribute to the Rockets until next year.

It depends. If for some reason Scola and perhaps Patterson go down for extended time, I think he can return as a Landry-type tweener forward. I think he's worthy of rotation minutes at the PF right now.

But from a long term development standpoint, there's no reason for him to return until he can be a full time SF.

I resisted the temptation to bump this thread...I hope it still becomes reality.

Dang, really wished he would have gotten playing time right away. Must be happy but also suck for him since his less talented Bro is playing in PHX.

It's one thing to be wrong it's another thing to be absolutely ridiculous.
