Yes. Because we all know Dwight Howard has another Lebron+Wade combination just waiting for him just like Bosh. Certainly these two situations are just so similar to each other.
The specific situation certainly differed, but Morey has been trying to recruit a second allstar (via trade, free agency signing, etc.) ever since McGrady shipped himself out of town. For a variety of reasons, nothing has come of these efforts. Face it, Dwight wants little to nothing to do with anything related to the Houston Rockets unless you are talking about Hakeem. But hey, DREAM big if you want.
Actually we've had a superstar on the roster for a long time now. This is the first season we haven't.
That's true...and for the vast majority of the time over the last 35 years or so, we've managed to have an All Star or Superstar center on the roster (most of whom arrived here by virtue of luck of the draft). It's not that we have to have a Superstar center to assemble a team with championship potential, but I'd love for that All Star or Superstar big man tradition to continue in Houston. It's also true that at this particular point in time we seem to have a frustrating inability to set ourselves up to lure or trade for an established star -- but if there were any possibility of landing Dwight Howard, it would be one of the best possible ways I can imagine to continue the tradition here.
Us getting Dwight Howard and him signing an extension here would be like saying I'm gonna get a girlfriend and gonna get married to her this year!

Kyle Lowry was amazing tonight, as expected... Are you seeing this Dwight? No other PG has the combination of scrappiness, fire, and skill as Lowry.
