Tolliver on Rubio's pass between Dirk's legs for the 3pt dagger to seal the game.

    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
'It's indefensible. Dirk cut off the baseline. He did what he was supposed to do, but Rubio was able to make an incredible pass. I expected it to go through his legs into my hands and that's what happened. That why I was confident shooting it. I knew it was coming.'

Timberwolves would have been a more successful franchise if the Lakers stayed there.

If Rubio wins ROY, it would mean a 2 year drought for ROY for 2010 and 2011 draft class. The 2009 draft class would be the only class to have 3 ROY winners.

Maybe one of our 2009 draft busts can be ROY next year! Oh wait...

Adelman is the perfect coach for the T-Wolves, and Rubio is the perfect compliment to Adelman and his system. Damn, did they get lucky. Loads of high caliber young talent and a future Hall of Fame coach to put it all together. I've been a fan of Rubio's since June of '09, but I wondered if he would be able to make the transition to the NBA. I shouldn't have.

Typical NBA TV night: "And now we're going to talk about Ricky Rubio. Awww he's soooo cute and amazing... and he's foreign. Sensational. Absolutely sensational. Hey, let's talk about his 6 points 3 assists performance and talk only about him and no one else on whatever that team in Minnesota is called. Oh, well we could mention Kevin Love briefly. But not too long, we really need to break down everything the kid did on court because man, he is so good at passing. It IS amazing. I haven't ever seen someone pass the ball before. I'm drooling. Literally drooling."

enough of this bull**** please, hate as much as you want on OHMSS but he was still 100% correct in saying that Rubio sucked in Europe, nothing Rubio does in the NBA will change that fact.

You may not notice this but the NBA is filled with selfish, egotistical and just plain dumb players, but they're so talented that they rise to stardom on talent and highlights alone. Having achieved their star status they get to do whatever they want on the court and their coaches are pushed in the background, that's why we have so much chucking and overdribbling and selfishness in the NBA, in Europe however, coaches have a lot more say in what happens on the court so you rarely see the point guard of a team hold on to the ball for the entire offensive set only to end up chucking a random fadeaway.
Adelman is one of the few coaches in the NBA who gets enough respect from his players for them to follow his ideas, having him paired up with a product of European basketball such as Ricky is truly a match made in heaven. Ricky is used to unselfish basketball and is used to respecting his coaches vision although he now has a lot more freedom to complement the motion offense with his amazing (by NBA standards) basketball IQ and court vision (by any standards), he is what a point guard should be in this league, I just don't get why there aren't more players like him.
Whether you're a selfish or unselfish player is your own personal decision and since unselfish players are usually more successful, why are there so many selfish players then? IMO there's just too much EGO in the NBA

Rubio didn't suck in Europe. Another lie fed to the message board. Rubio was dinged last season and there were some team/coach political issues on the team he was on. Rubio has won plenty in Europe.

exactly, Europe doesnt have a similar system, same thing to jennings. Many stars go there and especially younger guys play 7 minutes at a time get subbed out and they play more like a high school college style. ITs zone defense so its not about a drive and kick ball. you have to remember, Deron played in a 3rd tier turkish league, not the 1st division euroleague that rubio played in. Rubio played with some of the best players in the euroleague on his team so his role was to pass it around, play defense and not do too much. So trying to compare and translate states, just like they did wit hjennings just shows all you know how to do is read at face value and not apply context of what and why produces all of it...

Okay, I think you didn't watch one full game of Rubio playing in Europe, at least in the last 3 years. He was straight terrible since being drafted and there's no way you could possibly say he "didn't suck" if you would've followed him. Ricky was passive, couldn't score and barely showed any creativity or brilliance on the court.

The NBA is made for guys like him with all the transition and open court.

I truthfully thought Rubio wouldn't be the greatest fit for Adelman's system, but it just shows how good Adelman is at adapting to the strengths of his personnel. So much for the "old, stubborn, terrible developmental coach" label.
