I think games like this, Drew will have more confidence in TMAC and make him the go-to playmaker in the 4th, and he did. Joe Johnson still isn't close to what Tracy is as a playmaker.

The biggest play of the night was out of a timeout, the ball was in TMAC's hands and he threw a nice alley-oop to Josh Smith.

    Return of the Mac.

I hate when players get a bad rep and get semi black balled out the lg. The heat are feeling stupid now, Tmac for the veteran min or Shane for the mid level?

All of these contending teams picking up fringe NBA players and the Hawks stealing Tmac.

Tmac dark horse for 6th man of the year.

If Andre Miller will continue to play like he did in the first games of this young season... There is no chance for him

    @ Miami

16 pts (5-8, 3-3 from 3), 7 reb, 5 ast, 1 stl. Most of his points were clutch shots in the 4th that buried the Heat and he also some neat passes like the alley hoop to Smith.

He's looking like the 07/08 version

Given the shots and minutes, he could still average 20 ppg.

They might as well trade Marvin for a center?

Can you not see how well he is playing? He's got an over-20 PER, now. His production is scaling with his minutes. He's doing everything: rebound, pass, shoot, drive, defend. Looks like 80% of 07-08 T-Mac to me. He's better than Chase, right now. Way, way better, actually.

The one thing I noticed with T-Mac.

There should be a stat which includes free throws as a result of direct passes.

TMAC can't handle 30+ minutes. It was reported Drew is monitoring his minutes very closely. But he does look like the 07/08 version minus the stamina.

    First step is still filthy.

Grant Hill 2.0 anyone? He obviously still has enough skills and IQ to produce

FIBA made the rule couple of years back that every direct pass that ends with a POINTS from FT is counted as a assist

More than. Grant Hill wasn't even 40% of what he used to be.

He is - a result of not being the spearhead of the offense and having better teammates.

People don't get ahead of yourselves. I remember him having such stints even with The Knicks. Problem is, can he sustain it?

Glen Rice has a point, he has had games like this only to look like a 40 year old man the next. So wait and see if this was just one of his 10-great-minutes then-nothing-left spurts or if this time he has really gotten over his troubles. To me he has looked better this year, I don't have ill will towards the man so I hope it is the latter.

He is looking finally healthy, and confident in his knee...took him 2 years to get there, but still looking pretty good.

come on DD... it's obvious after a micro fracture surgery no player is ever the same.

Look at STAT. the dude jump shots all game. He is clearly not the same explosive player that he used to be.

Mcgrady knows that his athelticism is not what is used to be. He always had a great BBIQ, he knows that using his head > using athleticism. Dude can still ball. Dude can still put the ball under the basket and his passing game has always been the best in the position that he plays in.

JJ ain't got nothing on T-Mac. If only injuries weren't part of the game.:eek::eek:

I don't even see his stints as a Knick or a Piston as comparable. He played one good game for the Knicks and he was a consistently almost there player in Detroit. He's been a consistently great player in Atlanta even though the sample size is still small.
