I'm not harsh on C Bud I never said he sucks, I just said that he is not worthy of being a starter and he should be a bench player.
Just to give you some perspective there are players on your list that I would not put above Shane Battier. And yet I was one of the ones who was calling for Chase to be moved into the starting line-up and Shane to the bench prior to the trade. Even you have to admit the Rockets started playing better when Chase was moved into the starting unit. Knowing that, you should easily be able to pick out some of the players on your list I would not trade Chase for.
Shane was not on my list. I would rather have C Bud then Shane. Even if you disagree with certain players on my list, I'm sure that you would agree that their are definitely 20-25 sf's clearly better then Bud.
I think it's impossible to mount any sort of intellegent argument to support that Bud has been less than solid as a starter. Small Forward is probably the most stacked position in the NBA with talent so saying Bud is not in the top half of starting small forwards in the game says nothing about him being a solid starter in my book. I know the Rockets starting unit & team as a whole started playing their best basketball of the season after Bud was inserted into the starting rotation last season.
What's your point? I'm not going to argue that. Bud is much better then battier. Shane provided zero offense and as he has aged his defense has declined. C Bud is a mediocre starter and a good bench player. Do you disagree?

He makes like $850K and is the 4th scoring option in our starting line up. We could be doing way, way worse talent and financialy speaking. Having a guy who can produce what he does at the price he costs is extremely valuable. It is the reason we are able to have so many rotation ready players on our team. Yes a trade is needed, but no this isn't NBA2K so it can't be done right now by pressing X a few times. Patience people, for now he is adequate and far from a negative.
What teams? Bucks Nets Cavs Lakers - Artest? Nope Hornets - Ariza? Nope Kings Mavs - Marion? Nope Spurs - Jefferson? Nope Suns - Hill / Dudley? Nope There is 9 teams right there that I would not trade Chase for any of their small forwards. Chase is a better player than Ariza, we've already seen it with our own eyes. If you have issues with Chases lateral quickness then Ron Ron must be torture for you to watch. Jefferson is just not as good as Chase. I live in Dallas and have watched 3 of their games this season, Marion is not what he used to be and much better suited to play PF these days.
So even by your measures you have chase as the 21st best small foward and thats not including teams like Portland who have 2 3's better then Bud. Philly also has two 3's better then bud.
As Ive stated I don't consider Batum to be better than Bud. Wallace is clearly better than both combined. Evan Turner plays SG and he is not as good as Bud. Not this season or last season.
Your just validating my stance. Your a C Bud supporter and even you have him ranked below 20. 20 is below average, so even by your own ranking your saying he is a below average starter.

Not even close to being a C Bud hater. Every GM in the NBA would take Batum over C Bud. Almost everybody on clutch fans would take Batum over C Bud.
My position all along is that Chase is a solid starter. I've claimed nothing more, anything else was created in your own mind. BTW, I don't understand your illogical love of Batum. People have been loving home based on potential for a while now, he is what he is....solid but not some superstar in the making. He is clearly in the back half of the nba if compared to starting small forwards, just like Bud is. When you try to argue freekin Evan Turner is better than Bud when he is not and he does not even play SF you show your anti-Bud bias.
you need help. Batum is a legit starter in the NBA while Bud is barely a role player. If you can honestly convince yourself that Bud is > Batum you need help.
Why do you think almost every GM would trade Bud for Batum? Because you say so? I say your wrong, trading Bud for Batum is such a lateral trade few GMs would even consider it. As for using the posters as some sort of validation that Batum is better than Bud...well if that's the source you basing your CBud hate on maybe you should try to mix in a game or two.
Do you really believe that Batum has a much higher value then C Bud around the NBA. It's not even close.
