What bad contracts? The only "bad contract" the Kings have is John Salmons, and I would gladly take his contract for DeMarcus Cousins.
Given our history in dealing with Cowtown, available "a$$ets" , and need ...it would surprise me if we don't end up with Cousins. The guy has demanded a trade. Of course Sacto is going to say they're not dealing him, but they have no leverage. Toss in Morey's previous attempts .......Get er done baby.
Garcia is one, but he probably will be amnestied. But Salmon's contract decreases each year and has a team option in his final year. That's not a bad contract for a team trying to contend.
Kings need a new arena, so they don't have the luxury to rebuild. This might make them more receptive to our veteran "assets".
Which they would definitely try to give us. I would take serious pause with this guy as we don't have either a strong veteran presence on the team or the coaching staff to control this guy. No Battier or Hayes to help him. No Phil Jackson type of guy whom he would respect. If he won't respect Westpaul he won't respect anyone on the Rockets. And I would imagine Sac-town will take picks in return along with another promising young player. We don't have either to offer them.
Lou, I would be relying on Kevin McHale to get to Cousins. McHale was a low post wizard, and commands that respect. Also, I read somewhere that Cousins needs things explained to him in great detail so that he gets it, I think it was his college coach who said that. I would take a shot at him, why not? DD
Martin wanted a trade as well in the Westphal era. Coincidence? Minny can enter the scene and offer pieces they may want in a 3-way trade.
You know, I don't think it is so much about Westphal as it is about Tyreke, that guy is just a black hole with the ball. And we are not talking about skin tone here folks, he just sucks the air out of an offense. WAY WAY WAY overated, he is their Terrence Williams...only they are playing theirs.... DD
Is Kevin Martin as good as gone? Are there reports linking him to Minnesota? Just asking because I've seen a lot of posts of speculation that he might get traded there.
Martin has problems with their announcer "Peaches". The guys had a radio show and made Martin his pet target.
The Rockets have all the pieces to make a deal like this happen; low salary talent, draft picks, etc... The question is: Is Morey still interested in this guy? I say yes.
He can't be traded until March, I believe. I'm sure they want to make this happen pretty quickly, given the way they've handled this so far.
What would you give Sac to run at the 5? Would Whiteside and Jordan Hill be enough for them to be satisfied?
Agreed but I would throw in Dragic or Flynn in a heart beat. I think Dragic would be a great piece for Sacramento.
