Damn, Reeko. If you ever met me you'd think I'm completely without fire. And if you ever got to know me you'd know how freaking wrong you were.
Here is what I believe people might be missing. Chase is a very conservative player, he is a guy who almost always does the smart safe play, he is not the guy that is going to force the action, if he is open he will shoot it, if he is covered he will pass it, he will force his opponent to shoot jumpers and close out when they commit. He plays completely within himself, and while some may want him to barrel into folks like Lowry or draw fouls like Martin, that is not his game, he is a guy who is a nice complimentary player. Again, it boils down to expectations, he will get you 15 and 4 if he plays 30 minutes and with all the other guys on our team, that is just fine and dandy. DD
Bottom line is, Bud was much more aggressive at the end of last season than he is now. Once he returns to that, he will be loved here again. I'm thinking he is just about there.
Give it up, your man crush on C Bud is bordering on insanity. C Bud is my 28th ranked SF and I gave him the benefit of the doubt in my rankings. C Bud is a below average starter and is best served coming off the bench.
Admittedly, I am a fan of Budinger, perhaps because he is not a chest thumper but rather a more cerebral player who follows the game plan laid out by the coaches. However, if we could acquire a better SF than Bud (Harrison Barnes? Rudy Gay?), I would be for that acquisition. Until Chandler Parsons or even Marcus Morris proves he is the better SF, I will champion Bud's retention of his role as SF starter.
Yeah, but that means absolutely nothing. The guy is the number 1 ranked SF on the Rockets...sorry you don't like him but you like everyone else has no data for the dislike, just personal belief. Meanwhile the Pro-CBud crowd has a 12.7 defensive per for him, and he is shooting nearly 50% overall.....and finished the season very strong last year as the starter. It is weird, like folks are upset that he is doing so well, I thought everyone wanted the Rockets to do well...... As for my crush, I would trade him in a heartbeat, but I do feel the need to stand up for Rockets players whom I think are unjustly crucified around here, and CBud fits that bill. A solid starter last year, and again this year, sorry that bothers you.... DD
Being the 28th best sf in the NBA does mean something, it means that the Rockets need to upgrade the position.
Lol great job at avoiding the question. You should try politics, you remind me of a larger Chris Christie lol. In all seriousness you should be smart enough to understand that the Rockets need to upgrade the position. My list of superior 3's has already been posted. C Bud is clearly a below average starter and is best served coming off the bench.
Being the 28th small forward in the league is your ranking based on personal dislike and a clear bias against him. Stop throwing it around like it is some official stat that has a real set of measurables to back up your oppinion. I can assure you that there are not 28 teams in the NBA that I would be willing to trade Chase to so I could acquire their small forward.
Crash, we have brought stats to the party, and the clear indication from the organization and coaching staff, the other side, personal dislike. There is no way to convince someone otherwise, if they just don't like the guy. Hopefully they at least cheer him on when he is on the court and playing well.... DD
Oh, and Flipped, where we rank him is irrelevent....that is what you are missing, our ranking would have no more merit than yours does. The guy is the best option we have at SF, right now, and he is doing a pretty danged good job, if you believe in things like statistics, etc. DD
Lol so C Bud has been doing a great job this season. Your saying my ranking means nothing, so why not tell me where you disagree with my rankings.
I'll tell you what... You do the research by providing accurate data to support your reasons for wanting to trade Bud for each of those players on your list of small forwards along with your reasoning for each and I will respond to that. I'm not doing your research for you
Why would I do that? I don't care to have that discussion with you. The guy is the best option on the Rockets, he is doing a pretty danged good job. If the team decides to trade him or try to upgrade, fine by me. But for now, all the venom that folks are spewing his way, based upon perception and not reality (which is what your rankings are BTW) is just silly. The guy is a pretty good NBA player, and is doing a fine job as the starting SF on the Rockets. Whether you like it, or not...... DD
Crash, Well said, do not argue with people who base their opinions on hot air, you know the truth, you did the research, you can see the proof on the screen. Don't bother trying to convince people that won't listen to a well reasoned discussion. I like how some folks at least admitted they were too harsh on the guy, and that their perceptions of his competitiveness are what bothers them, I can respect that - I don't happen to agree, but I get where they are coming from, but others just want to dislike the guy for no reason, maybe they like someone else on the team better and CBud having the starting job is stopping him from playing. You can not teach the blind to see. DD
