Sounds like a headcoach fed up with a player. Most likely a trade will happen. Point of no return kind of situation.
Ok, I'll throw in the fantasy trade. Hou OUT-Scola, Martin, Dragic, Hill, 2012 1st rounder IN-Cousins, Randolph, Salmons, Beasley Sac OUT-Cousins, Salmons IN-Scola, Dragic, Hill, Hou 2012 1st rounder Min OUT-Randolph, Beasley IN-Martin Hou does it for Cousins. This lets Ppat start, with Morris/Randolph as backups. Cousins could play F with Dally playing C. Beasley can start at SF. Lee starts at SG Sac does this b/c they feel Cousins needs to go (hopefully). They get Scola and Hill as bigs, maybe they are fooled that Hill is really a C. They need a pass first point and though Dragic is not really one he is a good player. I wish they'd take Flynn but prob want Dragic. Min gets Martin and only has to trade Randolph and Beasley. Maybe they add a pick for Hou or for Sac?
Exactly. I don't see why majority of forum members our willing to give up so much. Nothing against Cousins he's a stud but not an superstar.
Yep. Thats the guy Morey wanted in the draft. It makes sense. youth movement and you get that upside you want that could be worth the risk. The downside is he is a gamble now. Upside? Huge upside if he puts it all together. The numbers are already there.
I think everyone is in agreement that they wouldn't trade Lowry for Cousins. But everyone else on the roster? They're all nice rotation players, but none of them are that great. A lot of them aren't as good as Cousins was last year, as a 20-year-old rookie. I don't think the Kings are going to trade DMC, but anyone not named Lowry should be on the table in a potential deal for him.
I think we might be seeing a tidal shift, owners and management no longer trying to protect their player's rep. Essentially saying that if a player wants to wallow in their own crap, they can't expect the team to wash it off for them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Westphal Westphal is a HOF nominee. He has a ring and was a 5 time allstar. He knows something about winning. He doesn't have a prominent name but he has a track record to back it up. You would fire somebody with this record before trading away a sophomore kid?
Probably. That would be my fear too. I would rather it be sellling them back some veterans like Sam Dalembert or Scola.
Anyone asset other than Kyle or our own 2012 pick, which isn't even technically ours unless we miss the playoffs, so I guess that's not an issue. PS, if Sac really wants to punish him, I'm sure the Jazz would pick up the phone. Ha ha, Cousins in SLC. I'm sure that he would love that.
You know who else was a great player? Westphal lost the lockerroom in Seattle and his players mutinied. The same thing's happening in Sacramento. You're kidding yourself if you don't think Westphal's on the hot seat.
This could happen yeah. But if they win a few more games without Cousins? They are going to contemplate if they could make their team significantly better without him.
You know we have a good relationship with them in the past. It kind of makes sense really. Its Demarcus Cousins who Morey wanted to draft and we have the guys to move for him if they want what we have.
 Well I will closely follow this. That does not make Cousins the role model of work ethic, competitiveness, thus a perfect citizen.
Cousins' teammates have always liked him and would welcome him back for the trip. "The thing with him is he's so emotional," forward Francisco Garcia said. "And when things go wrong, he really shows his emotions. The thing is, he's really not a bad kid. He's going to travel with us (today), hopefully." Cousins, in his second season, is averaging 13 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.5 blocked shots. He has struggled shooting (32.1 percent), but his rebounding and defense have shown improvement. Asked if the Kings had any intention of trading Cousins, basketball president Geoff Petrie said, "No." "My intention is to meet with him (today)," Petrie said. Teams such as Houston and Detroit have long had an interest in Cousins. Petrie said this situation is really about Cousins' maturity. "This is really about putting away childish things," Petrie said. Evans said the win shouldn't make anyone think the Kings don't need Cousins."He's a good player, and we need him," Evans said. "Hopefully, he can get it together and be a part of this team." http://www.sacbee.com/2012/01/02/4157260/cousins-sent-home-before-kings.html#storylink=cpy
