In morey we trust hes been trying to get cousins we always do business with the kings this deal needs 2 get done in morey we trust
Not sure what we would have that would interest them? Hill would have to go for sure. I would like to dump some of our players on them, this team has too many players and it just mumbles up the roles. I doubt it though, if Sac was smart they'd be after some vets. They have enough high profile rookies. Honestly as long as we are not trading Lowry I'm coo. Kmart won't be going to Sacremento either so he stays unless it would be a 3 team deal. I'd be willing to do it. Roll the dice on the guy. Get a good young player with some serious potential for once.
I hope DM can find a way to trade for him. Not sure what we could offer that they would take. You don't risk someone like Lowry on him. Lowry is a rising star and you just cant risk that and a malcontent. Scola? I would do that in a heart beat but why would a rebuilding team want Scola? I'm guessing it would start with Donatas Motiejunas and a pick as well as probably Jordan Hill. DMo Hill NY's 1st round pick I'm guessing that would at least get them talking but not even sure if that would do it.
Discussions start with Patterson + Bud + Williams + NY pick for Cousins + Salmons Dally/Cousins Scola/Hill (Moti) Salmons/Morris/Parsons Martin/Lee Lowry/Dragic Great lineup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Morey likes Cousins, Anthony Randolph, and already traded for TWill. Looks like his dream frontcourt would be full of headcases.
I'd love to acquire him for relatively cheap (I understand you have to give something to get something) and then use him as the main chip in a Dwight Howard deal at the deadline.
Found this tidbit on a Sacramento fansite from fans at tonights Hornets/Kings game: That sounds like an organization thats played its last game with Cousins to me.
Morey is all about advanced stats. Cousins was the most dominant player stat-wise in college since Duncan I believe. DM seriously believes that Cousins could be a top 10 player in the league one day.
What could he have possibly done for them to take action this swiftly? It's five games into the season!
I think he'd rather have Gasol+Nene as his front court. The Cousins, Randolph and TWill types are targeted because their "headcase" status make them potentially available at a good price. I don't know what they'll offer for Cousins but I think: 1. Lowry is off the table. 2. KMart won't be part of it since the Kings already had him once. 3. Patterson probably is someone we'd like to keep given his friendship with Cousins. 4. Scola is a possibility if the Kings want additional veteran to help win some games and help the younger player mature. 5. Morris, the NY Pick, Motiejunas and other draft picks are likely part of the package. 6. Countney Lee and Goran Dragic might be a part of the package if the Kings want someone who would run the more motion-oriented offense that their coach is apparently trying to implement.
Yeah, I'm a huge fan of acquiring an unstable second-year player who reportedly demanded a trade in the first week of his second season. No red flags there at all ... C'mon, people. Unless we can get DeMarcus straight up for Budinger (which won't happen), it's not worth risking the chemistry and a solid foundation, not to mention Morey's whole shebang of acquiring assets for a franchise player down the road. And no, Cousins is NOT a franchise player at this point.
You better believe Sac will be asking for Lowry and Patterson for whatever trades involving the man-child Cousins. I would give anybody but Lowry for him. Hopefully, he will mature in a team which historically favors centers among all other positions.
While I would be fine with standing pat and allowing one of our players to develop into a star, you just can't let an opportunity like this go by. Tell me this, if you somehow got an offer from the kings saying they would trade cousins and salmons for lee(or dragic if they want pg), hill, twill, and picks would you decline? would you really pass on a potential star CENTER because of the risk of him being a nut case? You have to take risks to get better. Of course, if they ask for too much I would back off, but if a trade like that goes through then we could have our core for years to come.
The only reason I may even consider it is he's still on his rookie contract. But he is a GIANT risk. I don't think it's worth it. Keep in mind that he's not exactly disciplined offensively or defensively. He has a bad shooting percentage for a big man his size. My first reaction if offered that deal is, we don't NEED Cousins or Salmons. We're not in a win-now mode. I really like Lee and I really want to see more of what Hill can become. I think he can be a serviceable player or atleast further up his trade value. The Rockets as constructed have enough issues to work through before adding a malcontent to the list. For all the talent, he has more than a few screws loose. We don't need a T-Will Jr. at the moment. I'd rather stay the course and see what can be when it's all put together, especially with Dalembert doing a fine job in the middle early.
We have a history of doing deals with Sacramento. Landry and Dorsey in the McGrady deal. Martin, of course. They've seen what kind of a player Chuck became with the Rockets, so at least the aura glowing from the Chuckwagon can't harm our mojo. Perhaps this is the break we've been looking for. Any chance of tossing Williams into the deal? It would make things easier on McHell and the staff. Cousins would deserve an enormous amount of attention, and he'd be worth the effort and the risk.
But since Les apparently refuses to tank, he has no choice but to gamble on players like Cousins. BTW, guess which team is looking like they might be landing a top five pick next Summer, Dallas.
