...I lol'ed. Actually forgot about the Battier swap.
I was referring him being a lottery second pick and that Hashim had more upside than Cousins. At least that was advertised.

The only piece the Rockets have the Kings have a need for is Lowry.

The Nets would be good trading partner for them in C for C swap, ie Lopez for Cousins.

If we can get him, we will set at the Center position for a long time. He is only 21 years old. I would give up anyone other than Lowry, Martin, Patterson. :)

Now you are talking sense. You can't sell your fram but the barn.

We gotta at least have a core. I would have Lowry, Patrick and Marcus
Martin is good but he will be over 30 once Cousins evolves.

I would say offer anyone besides - Lowry, Martin or Pat. We would have to take back Garcia most likely. Scola+Morris+a combination of Lee/Dragic/Bud (just one not all 3) sounds fair.

Cousins could play center or power forward, in which case if we were able to find another defensive minded center, like Dalembert (who we have right now) or Chandler. He could go to power forward, or even play center with Scola or Hill at the 4.

They wouldn't want Martin and Patterson should not be untouchable. Patterson has a future but he is far from untouchable.

Well, at least try spare Lowry, he needs someone to pass him the ball, while Sacramento has enough guards, already.

Couldn't give up Lowry, he is the one player who might be a star on the team.

Lowry is the only untouchable player we have on our team. I'd trade anyone else for a player with the potential of Cousins.

    that sucks. boo!

and that's a fair point, but it's not the reason they have rebuilt successfully. Durant was drafted in 2007. it took them a while to get where they are now. I'm not saying managing cap space isn't important, I just don't see the comparison.

I have no problem building through the draft. I am all for the actually being the comparison... I just don't think it is, because Les and Morey won't allow for it. So, if they did trade for Cousins, they'd do so while still trying ot be competitive. That's the real "what's the point of discussing Rockets b-ball" question. But if they did decide to trade for Cousins, groom him, and accept another trip or two to the lottery while slowly getting better, that'd be great... and while Salmons contract would be burdensome that being the case, I don't think it'd be horrible.

The issue isn't Salmons contract, it's Cousins... which is the issue regardless. Is he a nutcase, inefficient big man who can rebound, or is he a 20/10 player shooting 50% in a year or two. That's the question. If you can hedge our risk by not taking Salmons, of course, great. I just don't see how the Kings say "you have to take Salmons" and Morey counters with "we'll give you Budinger", and the Kings say "ok". Salmons being the bad contract that he is, as you claim, the Kings might want Bud (or Hill) anyway to get fair value for Cousins potential.

Then my friend how are we going to rebuild then?
We would be like the Kings....
Lowry is the one who can help him getting his touches......
Patterson would be the one help him get his head straight on.
Martin is the stick person that helps scoring only.

Never said I would trade Lowry. Patterson on the other hand is somebody who I would move for the right piece. The 4 is a position of strength for the Rockets. If they lose Patterson they still have Scola, Hill and Morris. D Mo is also coming next year.
