That sucks. Let's see if Rudy Gay can lift up his team in Randolph's absence.

Well then, at least all the "tank" faction can follow the Grizzlies and see how all that tanking BS pans out. Who knows next year the Grizz might be rocking Gasol, Davis and Gay.

They might actually consider it if we sent CBud + Scola in exchange for Gay.

I'm not sure how that would wash with Budinger though - if he knew Rudy was heading to Houston he'd want to stick around, he seems like the kind of guy who wants some gay in the team.

reports are that he has a knee contusion and he was hopeful to return to the game. He tested it at halftime and he didn't return. Not much else is known at this point. But he did walk off the court on his own so it can't be too, too bad, is what I am hoping.

That's good. I hate to see an injury take down a player in his prime.

Especially when it would crush a small market franchise at its peak. The NBA needs franchises like the Grizzlies to contend.

Seriously, what does Memphis' issues have anything do with the Rockets picks? I mean seriously!

ronnie brewer with a nice little +48 for the game.

the memphis starters shot 8-41 for the game. gasol at 2-6 was the sharpshooter of the bunch.

If he miss a few weeks then Memphis may not make the playoffs this year. He is very underrated:)

We own MINNESOTA's second rounder, not Memphis's.

I wish Z-Bo all the best...but is it wrong of me to wish that happened to him before he played the Rockets? It killed me watching him carve us up a few games back.

Randolph (knee) is scheduled for a "precautionary MRI" on Tuesday, Chris Herrington of The Memphis Flyer reports.

It now appears that the injury is more serious than originally thought.

Memphis Commercial-Appeal is now reporting that Randolph could miss up to 8 weeks.

Unfortunate for Randolph and the Griz, but it does open some room for the Rockets to grab a playoff spot.

Edit: Bima beat me to it. And Zach Lowe agrees with him :)

[rQUOTEr]Between Grizz and Spurs injury news, door is wide open for Rockets to make the playoffs--and not get a lottery pick.[/rQUOTEr]

[rquoter]MINNEAPOLIS --- Grizzlies forward Zach Randolph will miss up to eight weeks after magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed that he suffered a slight tear of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, sources with knowledge of the situation told The Commercial Appeal.

The injury will not require surgery and doctors will re-evaluate Randolph in two weeks.

Randolph was believed to only have a bruised MCL. He did not travel with the team for its road game tonight against the Minnesota Timberwolves. He remained in Memphis and is wearing a knee brace.

Randolph suffered the injury after teammate O.J. Mayo inadvertently fell into his legs during the Grizzlies’ 40-point loss Sunday at Chicago. Randolph left the game with a minute left in the first quarter and he didn’t return.[/rquoter]
