The topic at hand is about the prospect of landing Cousins as he has just requested a trade. I don't see how the Rockets would currently have any chance at acquiring Drummond. I am really not sure what your point is here.
I don't have a go and get him stance.... Just for the right price...... Point he is not a rarity just because he is close to 7 ft and showed some skills. It's just we as fans got undersized PFs and Centers before that many crave 7 footers but you have to search for reasons why. I'd rather have a much better Small Forward to be honest with you. We have Motiejunas and Morris enough good prospects at disposal, they may not be 7 footers but they have upside as well.
I guess if they are willing to take Scola then Cousins and Garcia would make sense. Maybe Scola and Dragic for Cousins and Garcia. I dunno...doesn't seem like a deal they would take, but who knows.
If the Rockets seriously think they can get Dwight and the only way to get Dwight is to sign Deron as well. How much of a detriment would adding Salmons and Cousins be? Fans like potential but stars want to win now. While Salmons is one of those contracts that hold back a contending team.
ChrisMannixSI Chris Mannix Just saw Cousins/Kings situation. Keep an eye on Houston. Cousins is just the kind of risk center-starved Rockets might take I was thinking the same thing!
Always dampen your expectations towards players because there will be less hatin afterwards...if they turn out busts

Patrick Patterson might turn out to be a good PF, someday. But, his potential does not get anywhere as high as Cousins does. If Cousins could fall into the right situation, and grow up. He could be 20-10 player, fairly easy. I know fans want to see our players do well and exceed expectations, but I just see a better player in Cousins.
If they trade for Cousins I think they need to add Scola but give up more so they don't get back a bad contract like Salmons, Garcia, or Outlaw. The Rockets need to keep 2012 free agency in play.
If we traded for Cousins, how long would it be before we could trade him back out? Would he be able to be traded in a trade-deadline deal?
This is an opportunity with Morey's name written all over it. The Kings are not in a great position to negotiate since they have announced they have to get rid of him. Cousins wouldn't have the ability to dictate where he goes being on a rookie contract. We could give them Dalembert--who is good, but is what he is--a great defensive 5 that is limited on offense. Cousins is our chance to cash in our abundance of assets for a legit big man that can play both sides of the ball. A risk yes, but hopefully he'll respect McHale being a legend in his own right. We'd have to give up some young players since they are trying to rebuild. I would worry big time, however, if we have both Twill and Cousins on the same team. So we'd have to get rid of Twill in a hurry.
Morris is a prospective small forward, while Motiejunas will likely play power forward. If you consider Cousins a prospect, than we already have our small forward prospect in Morris. This being the case, I am not sure as to why you would want another young small forward over a 7 footer. You can say that we as Rockets fans would oggle over any skilled 7 footer given our lack of height in recent years, but the fact of the matter is there are simply very few skilled 7 footers in the entire league. As big men take the longest amount of time to develop, a rookie who puts up 14 and 9 in 28 minutes his rookie year is VERY promising.
