you're going to be waiting a while. If you don't have an ego and aren't homeboys with the players the media jerks to, the chances for recognition are slim.

He is a star though as he makes the game easy for his teammates.

You know... I believe it. If around all-star voting time Houston is one of the playoff seeds, they'll put Lowry in IMO. Guys like Curry/Ellis might be on the same level in the west but they'll suffer from being on a bad team most likely.

This is assuming he's still averaging 10 assists a game and putting up like at least 15 points a game (which shouldn't be too hard).

As long as we win, he will get some national attention. Here he is the clear "best player" on the team. But around a lot of other places people think it's Martin . So I wouldn't be surprised if most of the attention went to him instead cause he is our leading scorer but nothing else...

You know... there is so much truth to that. We don't really run scheme offense anymore now that Adelman is gone. No more high post triangle sets anymore. It's basically just Lowry coming off of picks and setting up the other guys or plays that set up Scola and Martin where they want the ball.

And Lowry doesn't have HoF level teammates like Rondo has (probably the guy people will start comparing Lowry to). That's the other thing. I mean sometimes it seems like passing it to Martin on the wing in transition is easy money but if Lowry wasn't running the break they wouldn't have a reason to try stop the guy from making a layup and maybe they would come out on Martin earlier.

I think Rondo looks like a stick figure next to Lowry the Bull.

He is averaging 13-11-6 right now. If he can atleast keep it 13-10-4, he should be a lock for the all-star game.

Aside from Lowry's typical All-Star Performance tonight, his All-Hustle Block on Pargo during the fourth quarter and third night of a back-2-back-2-back was downright Gritty and a Thing of Beauty...

Usually getting an all-star appearance has little to do with stats. They pick the best players on the playoff teams and that's basically it. Kevin Martin would make the All-star team if we traded him to Dallas. And depending on how good we do this season it's possible he makes it in this year.

If we're like 8th, maybe we won't be able to swing it this year. But if we're like 5th when it's time to vote for secondary players (because Chris Paul and Kobe are going to get voted in as starters, we all know that)... I can't think of another guard that would also be on a winning team in the running for the coach votes. San Antonio? No. Dallas? Kidd is too old. OKC, Westbrook might make it in over Lowry. Memphis? Nope. Denver? Nope. So unless the Warriors start playing inspired basketball Lowry might have the inside track on one of those coaches vote spots... IF we have a good record of course.

I don't see it happening as long as Westbrook and CP3 are healthy. The coaches are not going to put a third PG on the All Star team.

Lowry is better than an All Star. He is a cold-blooded winner.

Its not a given that Westbrook even makes it. Lowry has a chance if Westbrook has a down year.

Generally I agree with you here, but big assist numbers tends to bode very well for point guards. If Lowry can be, say, top 3-5 in assists throughout the season, then he has a good shot given his normal scoring.

As long as the Rockets don't trade away Scola or Martin, Lowry should be piling up a ton of assists.

We have our 1st star. Now who can Lowry to lure to play with him in Houston? His friend Rudy Gay maybe? We need a SF clutch scorer, and Gay even plays defense now.

Last year Paul, Westbrook and DWill were on the western squad. The year before that it was DWill, Paul, Nash and Kidd (although I think Kidd was thrown on there because of injuries). The year before that you had Mo Williams, Harris and AI in the east. Billups, Parker and Paul in the west.

It could happen. Guard play in the west is so diluted. For forwards you have Durant, Nowitzki, Gasol, Randolph, Griffin, Duncan (probably not), Gay and Aldrich... but for guards it's basically Kobe, Paul, Westbrook and then it's a very wide open field after that.

That being said... I'm not putting any money down on this yet but it'll be an interesting year if this team can stay on the good side of .500.

You know... over the next couple of years... as long as we don't ridiculously overspend on our role players, it's looking like we'll have a lot of money in cap space.

That's why this year could be key. If we can secure like a 5th seed kind of like Portland last year... "star" players on losing teams will be looking at our team and thinking "man... they just need 1 or 2 more players and they can take off... if they can do this with a core that they are essentially spending 25 million on, how good will they be when they spend that 30 million remaining on 1-2 above average players". I've mentioned Iggy in a bunch of threads before. He's Kevin Martin's age and still has a solid 5 years of high level play in him. Obviously Dwight Howard will be an interesting story as well as to where he ends up going.

Lowry is the 3rd best PG in the West behind CP3 and RW. Not counting Nash etc

Lowry just had one of the best 0 for 6, 6 turnover games ever.

I was at the game, and i can honestly say, I have not seen a player with that kind of presence since the Yao, Tmac days. Without even looking at his stats, he looked like a bonafide star on the court.
