Please don't turn this into a tanking thread... there are plenty of those. One highlight play doesn't support any one argument there.

The subject of "tanking vs playing" seems like it's going to be a theme all year no matter what. And just like the naysayers are probably going to want to bring it up when we lose... I want to also mention it when we start seeing a guy like Kyle Lowry play some really inspired ball in the first week of the season. Despite Martin averaging 25 points over the last 3 games, Lowry has to be your #1 player this year averaging over 10 assists a game and playing solid defense. I mean... how many times do we see a player go 0-fer, score 2 points and be considered the player of the game?

Where's the part of this post where you address Clutch asking you not to turn this into a tanking thread?

Sick play.... you don't see guards doing that every day. As a bonus, it's great to see this kind of effort.

I did address it. I said that "tanking vs trying" is going to be a theme this year no matter what happens... and that people like to bring it up after every loss so I feel like I want to bring up the subject after wins as well.

And actually it does have an effect on the development of players. Players know when their teams are packing it in and they act accordingly. Lowry could potentially take the step to becoming that second tier star player. We've seen plenty of late bloomer PGs in this league. If we completely tanked this season it might effect his development.

Man that was awesome. Play of the season so far.

I LOVE blocked shots, especially coming from guards and wing players. As soon as that went up, we said, that's probably going to be up in two minutes.

It wasn't, but sure as hell was worth the wait.

I was ten rows up behind that basket when he made that block.

    I'm still screaming.

Yes I did! But the fans were LOUD after that one too. The thing you can't really see in the replay but I did see from my vantage point was he ALMOST got another block in that same sequence. I think Clyde mentioned it later while watching the replay....

    Just AMAZING hustle and athleticism.

I'll admit I probably went a little off topic with my first post. It had more to do with the Hawks and the way they were built. Clutch called me on it... and I defended myself as to what it had to do with the game and that play in particular. And my next two posts pretty much had maybe a sentence mention on the issue and the rest of those posts were commentary about Lowry's play in general in that game and in this season.

I'm not trying to start a big argument here, but I also don't like it when people jump on me when I'm just trying to explain what I'm doing. I just want to talk Rockets with you guys especially after a good win like that and great play from Lowry in the game today. I'm with you guys here. I ****ing loved that dunk and I want to see more of that.

You shouldn't. Clutch asked you politely to stop and instead you continued.

Great block by Lowry! He has had a phenomenal start of the season. He is becoming one of the best point guards in the NBA...and already is one of my favorite players.

What I'm saying though is that I did stop... other than defending why I made the comment in the first place. What I can't even explain myself? I mention it briefly for a sentence and then the rest of the post is about Lowry playing well in the game (which is what the thread is about).

When it comes to chase-down blocks by perimeter players, there's Lebron James and there's Kyle Lowry. That's it.
