if Rice had scheduled Georgia St and N Texas like UH did, Rice would be bowling too UH played nobody all year until So Miss, and got exposed royally
Since this is on ESPN-U, does anyone know any local tv stations will pick up this game just like CW39 got the Texans game because it was on NFL Network?
You're so full of crap. "Injury riddled" is what UH was last year when they fell to Rice. Sam McGuffie and whoever was injured for Rice would have made zero difference had they played. Had Keenum or even Cotton Turner played, Rice would have been creamed as usual last year. I wonder what your excuse will be if UH beats Penn St on Monday...
It all comes down to this. Penn State is really good. They had the 8th ranked toughest schedule (tied with Alabama). They have the fifth rated defense in the country (S. Miss was 70th). If UH wins, the S.Miss game was a fluke, a result of the players losing focus because of the Sumlin rumors (which were true). If Penn State wins, then the Coogs (and oh how I love them) were grossly overrated because of a cream puff schedule (I thought Tulsa was the toughest team on the schedule). A lot is riding on the game for both programs. The key is, is UH big enough to protect Kenum? Are the UH skill players faster than the bigger PSU defenders. PSU is a team of giants, UH is a team of roadrunners, I don't know. But, if UH wins then please will all the UH haters finally admit that this team was big time but had a bad day? If they lose, well, just carry on. And to DonneyMost and all of you who are going to the game, have a safe and victorious trip. I am home sick with the crud, but I'll be watching, cheering, and hoping.
That will never happen. If Penn State loses, people will say that they lost because the players were distracted by the Sandusky scandal. Penn state lost their legendary head coach, an assistant coach is a key figure in the scandal, the AD and others were fired If I remember correctly. Talk about distractions, Penn State has distraction like no one has ever seen. So no, UH won't get much credit for beating a beleaguered and distracted Penn State team.
Win or lose, this UH team was a very good team, but that is it ... They would have lost at least 2 games in any BCS conf, but they are also good enough to have impressive wins in a BCS conf with more big games I dont really put a lot of weight in these end of season glorified exhibition games where the teams have had over a month off and half of them dont even have their coaching staffs.
