The Rockets have been getting killed by bigger frontlines ever since Yao went down. And Hayes has never made anyone think the Rockets interior was non-horrible. He may be a better fit than a new Dalembert for now, but I don't see the Rockets as a vastly superior team following the swap.
Once every one get into game shape, we will be okay. I like to see this line up and see how we play. Sammy Scola Patterson Martin Lowry
Last I heard, Chuck had failed his physical and his contract was voided. Correct me if I am wrong, but Chuck is still not playing basketball right now. If and when Hayes gets cleared to play by his doctors, surely the Rockets would be in the running for his services, if they are interested.
Typical shortsightedness by Chron guy. Chuck is a great man defender but the exchange for the Haitian Sensation was a huge deal. If Dalembert wasn't out of shape because of the screwed up offseason and Stern screwin' us, he'd have gotten 35 minutes out there & that makes a huge difference. It also hurts not having Patterson able to give 30 off the bench. Those 2 guys in shape give us length and D inside, plus they are a million times more valuable with help D. We all love Scola. His hustle and attitude is sensational but he's just a bench guy for a championship team. His lack of side and athleticism kills you against certain matchups. That's why getting Gasol was such a big deal. I know he disappeared last postseason but so did the entire Laker team. He helped those guys to the Finals 3 straight years and has 2 championships. Kobe was going nowhere before he showed up. I'd still love to see Scola & Martin get moved in a 3 way for Gasol. Gasol, Dalembert & Patterson as a 3 man big rotation is formidable defensively and more than competent offensively. It's much easier to find wings than guys with size & skill inside. Frankly, I'd prefer getting Gasol now and not having invested in Nene for the money discussed. Dalembert & open space for a higher paid wing makes more sense to me. Hopefully, the Orlando-LA three way is still in the discussion phase.
It's too early to judge either guy on 3 games. My knock on CBUD is that he has improved only marginally since he has gotten here. That's why someone else looks more promising. I expected more growth by now. PT is earned not given ya know. He had a stretch last year but other than that he's been very mediocre. If he can't getting it going under two different coaches than he really only has himself to blame. That or he just doesn't have the talent.
Jordan Hill looked like a fool out there. Dalembert tried his best. Bud needs to step up.. I can see his starter role Veoh.g reduced.
The only two PF's that gave Chuck trouble were Al Jefferson and ZBo oddly enough. Thats coming straight from the mouth of Chuck himself. Pretty much every other big in the league he shut down man to man. The Rockets post defense will suffer against teams like Memphis and the Lakers with two really good post players all year long because they wont be able to have two good post defenders on the floor very often unless Jordan Hill improves enough to play alongside Dalembert at times. If Chuck was on the team, then they wouldnt have had the cap space to sign Dalembert. The team sure would like to have kept Chuck and signed Dalembert, but the timing of the lockout and free agency this year really screwed with the ability to make room on the roster for both a free agent center and having the ability to re-sign Chuck.
The problem is, Budinger is a role player at a position we have some depth in. He doesn't have the leeway someone like Martin has because we don't count on him to score every game. We'll play him and then it's like... if he's on we keep him in, otherwise we see if someone off the bench is having a good night.
So we are going to get one of these articles everytime we get abused inside? I love me some Chuckwagon but he's a King now, time to move on
Parsons hustled, rebounded with 6 and and fouled 4 whereas Bud did not even care to foul which showed lack of resistance......showed he did not want to go down like this with the sinking ship I saw fire in the young man's play. I agree at times all hell break loose at CL but Chandler had the better game here even if you can't easily admit it
Yes but I would want a better option than a more athletic and sometimes poor version of Brent Barry in terms of long term investment.
If we had Chuck we'd still be unable to go against Gasol and actually their benchplay I thought was very good. Their projects killed US.
