Marc Gasol was like a king sized sheet covering a twin sized bed, Scola was no match for him at neither end tonight, definitively a night to forget.

I agree, the bounces didn't go to our favor, but watch Randolph more often and you'll notice he has a knack for making those difficult shots, they are no fluke. That ability must come from his years of experience as a me-first chucker in his early career, apparently those days did serve a purpose for him after all.

A starting line up with scola, bud, and martin just dosen't cut it on the defensive end.

The defense was hard to watch tonight. Something has to change, meaning get bud the f*** out of here

Three pages and only a handful of people pointed to the right reason why we are horrible defensively. Hill can't play center. I will say again the Rox are really not bad team defensively, only their deficiencies are magnified by the lack of a true anchor inside. There is a huge drop off defensively when Dalembert is not in there. Really this is not a knock on Hill, he does his best unfortunately he is not a center. I truely believe the reason Thabeet is not playing is more than basketball, and we may or may not know. Everyone will have a lay up drills against the Rox until we play a true center, you may get away for few posessions not for an extended period.

I know Dragic was off his game tonight, but damn McHale....why the hell did you just stick with Flynn in the 2nd half?

    The tanking has officially begun.

Yep, bench majority of starters by end of 3rd and all of 4th.

    Yep, signs of tanking.

We were blown by a large margin, and Lowry clearly got tired in the 2nd half. We were in the 2nd game of a back-back-back series, so Flynn was our only option.

Is it me or is the body language of Marcus Morris alarming? Chandler Parsons is really out working this guy. Scoring aside he is communicating with teamates, more alert when cutting and going after loose balls. I just see so much more effort not necessarily talent with Parsons, he is really earning the minutes that should be going to Marcus Morris. Marcus looks like dead weight, he's not running back after missed shots and not running on fast breaks. He looks lost and overwhelmed against NBA backups.

I would pull Marcus to the side let him know his potential importance to this team is to become the starting small forward for this team but also let him know that frankly he sucks right now and he needs to earn that position.

I don't know that one can 'suck' when the 2nd unit rotation is not even set.
Give it time, 15 to 20 games to figure out the basics....then we can talk.

Jordan Hill is damn near useless. He can't make shots and his D is lazy. Dalembert should be the starter.

In terms of talent you are absolutely right, but in terms of effort yes someone can suck and that is what I am so not liking about Marcus. He seems really uninspired to play on both ends of the floor. In my opinion he is at least arguably the most talented SF on the Rockets roster but in effort he is the worst player on the team. Lets put this way he was out hustled by Thabet in game 2. Effort and hustle is something you can have from day one.

Ugly game, and it may get worse before it gets better. This opening schedule is insane. I just hope we can come out of it 4-6.

Honestly this was just a loss coming they just had too much size. Only reason Rockets did well against them in the past was because of chuck hayes and his defense. Honestly I really didn't care too much because I saw effort on defense and good ball distribution (for the 2.5 quarters). Only thing that just irritated me were Flynn and the fact that Bud hardly ever tries to drive in. Luis also needed more touches though.

    This ^^

This game should be game 5 of the preseason, not game 3 of the regular season. There's just no way this team has been able to gel yet under the new system.

But this is happening to the other teams too, so, it's not so bad...yet
