You can't have a half-asser on your team. He's playing sub par right now. Average position defense....and just swimming along......

Way to defend your boy....I hope he plays well though...really do
But as of late he is just not aggressive..... You want the team to be tough but one starting player is deferring.......that's ridiculous

Bud is being selective about shooting just like his mentor. Bud is the more athletic version of Shane Battier.

While I am hard on Bud, I do have to acknowledge that with Scola, Martin & Lowry being so effective, there wasn't a lot of need or opportunity for Bud to do much on offense in game 2.

Lets see what game 3 brings.

Take it easy guys. Its only 2 games into the season. He will bounce back. Only problem with CBud playing while he is in a slump is he doesn't do anything else other than shoot. :)

I'm sure he's adjusting to the transition from the Adelman offense to whatever offense this is. That said, it's only been 2 games. I still prefer him to Williams at the moment, since he's able to function in an offense without ball-stopping.

    Budinger lacks fire.

He looked good in his rookie season, but then beginning from last season he just became more and more passive.

He's just your average role player at the moment, nothing more nothing less. Starting him won't get you anywhere, he isn't making the transition that we all expected him to.

Not the only thing. He lacks his jump shot.

I don't get it. How can you not work on your jumper in the off season?
    He is nowhere near established.

He is going to keep his starting position if he keeps that up for the upcoming 20 games.

Typical Bud; living and dying by his shot. He shot well this game. Let's see him continue that.

Budd was 7-10, 3-4 from 3 (which means over half of his shots and makes from from inside the arc) for 17 points.

I don't think he's that stellar of a starter, either. But until another player steps up to take his spot... there really isn't any reason to do anything other than what McHale has been doing. See if he's hot early... if he's hot keep him in and give him 30 minutes, if not give more minutes to Lee, Twill and even Morris.

Also, I think he's starting to get better at D. He's not a complete slouch on that end of the field anymore.

I give him credit where credit is due. I'd still want a defensive version of Budinger with more athleticism than Battier.

Yeah, for your 4th or 5th option you want defensive players.
