Considering how they have played through the 1st 3 games and how their head coach is absolutely awful you never know. More than likely it will still be a mid 1st rounder at best but if melo or amare gets injured u never know. Also it is clear to any nba fan that their lack of PG production will be their achilles heel.

Here are the Rockets extra picks in upcoming years, in case anyone is interested: 1. Rockets receive the Knicks' 2012 first-round pick (top 5 protected in 2012, 2013, 2014, and 2015, if not conveyed by 2015 then the Rockets will receive the Knicks 2015 and 2016 second-round picks) (Tracy McGrady trade 02-18-10) 2. Rockets receive the Timberwolves' 2012 second-round pick (from 31-55 or extinguished) (Draft Day trade 06-23-11) 3. Rockets receive the Grizzlies' 2013 first-round pick (Lottery protected in 2013; remaining conditions currently unknown) (Hasheem Thabeet trade 02-24-11) 4. Rockets receive the Clippers' 2015 second round pick (only if 51-55), via Raptors (Hassan Adams trade 01-07-09) (David Andersen trade 07-28-10) 2012 Outstanding Trades
The average winning percentage of the 8th seed in the East over the past 5 years has been 47.3%. I don't see it being any better this year. Also, they were 14-13 with Melo last year.
Its too early to tell, Knicks can get hot and roll off 10 wins if they actually start playing defense.
The Grizzlies pick has gone on to the Wolves in the Motiejunas trade. It was the price offered to move up 3 spots to get him(along with Minnesota's 2nd rounder). So we don't have that anymore.
The Knicks incredible lack of depth will likely be more apparent as the season goes on. So they probably won't be a top 4 seed in the east like many were thinking with the Chandler signing. But I have a hard time seeing them drop out of the playoffs short of a major injury. And quite frankly, I don't really care too much. If the pick is in the 15-20 range personally I'm happy. Another Morris/Patterson/Motiejunas type player I would certainly be happy with for taking on Jefferies' crappy contract 2 years ago.
With Amare and Melo in the same line up defense may never happen. There is only so much Chandler can do. And what happens when he has his typical annual injury? Keeping my fingers crossed.
It'll probably be in the 21-25 range, and I am perfectly fine with that! This draft is so deep and our staff is great at identifying talent. Not sure if we'll keep it though, you never know with Morey he is so active on draft night. Might be able to trade up. But at that range, there are nice players: Austin Rivers, Meyers Leonard, LeBryan Nash, Marquis Teague, Terrence Jones, Alex Oriakhi, Mason Plumlee...
We would have only gotten Phoenix's 1st last year if they had made the playoffs. So they owe us nothing.
It's fun to have a team to root for to lose every night. I know if somehow the Knicks miss the playoffs I will be very nervous about those lottery balls. No top 3!
