Ok, now let's say you are Dwight Howard and forget about his preferences to go where and what the team wants in return, where would you want to go ? Staying is an option as well but please consider the history of the Magic while Howard was there, like breaking up that 2009 Finals team. If I were him it would be a choice between Blazers, 76ers, Kings, Hawks or Warriors. All of these are places where there's great players but not the media attention getting types like Kobe, Dirk and them. So you would be the focal point and face of the franchise. Also all of these teams have either proven veterans or great young talent and with Dwight on any one of them would make them scary. In the end I would probably go for: Blazers - Already a very good team and would become instant contenders imo with Dwight on the team. You have proven veterans in starting line-up: Aldridge, Gerald and Raymond. Good veteran bench players in Camby and Crawford, and good youngsters in Batum & Matthews. There is a small possibility of Oden returning and the fans are just great. Perfect situation for
You claim that the Blazers are the best option because they are not covered by national media, and have seasoned veterans in addition to young talent. Now substitute "Blazers" with "Rockets". Funny how that works, huh? Plus, if I'm Dwight Howard, Houston > Portland
Atlanta would be a good fit imo. He can run, he can defend, established wings that can get him the ball or just do most of the scoring if he prefers to remain solely a defensive player. Dallas would be a good fit, but for how long? 2-3 seasons max? Dirk doesn't need much athleticism to be effective at 7 feet, but all of the star power on that team is on the wrong side of 30. Him on the thunder would be sick. Very young team competing now and plenty of years left. Houston would be good as well. Youth and vets, scorers, wing defenders (lee, williams) good 4s to go alongside him. He would have Scola and Patterson waiting to take over when Scola's done. That's if he is looking for a team he can fit on. He may just want to go to LA to be in LA
Because Dwight don't know what's good for him, clearly. He'd have the best fan base website in the universe behind him (except for when he has bad games).
Minnesota Timberwolves all day baby... Dwight Howard and K-Love(sometimes) in the post and Rubio throwing stupid good dimes to both. Plus you know they're lottery bound after the season
Houston, obviously. I'd look at what Daryl Morey did to surround Yao with a great supporting case, and I'd think, "I wont get Otis-Smith'ed in Houston!"
In all honesty, if I was DH I would stay away from Houston, Dallas, OKC and other teams with $Ball Fos. Why? Those guys treat players like assets, meaning they have no sacred cows and can/will trade your ass if something better comes up. I don't want to get Stromiled and get traded to another team after I sign and something goes wrong. I'd probably either stay in Orlando (where I am king and can influence the FO) or go to LA, where the FO don't have even 1 $ball player but it works.
Well since most on here are saying Rockets including myself.......would u trade for him this season knowing he is not guaranteed to sign an extension ?
