The game has slowed down for him now. It's not a question of getting elected by fans...he IS an all-star. This is the year he figures out how to turn points, assists, rebounds, and good defense into wins. Everything is coming together. He knows kung fu. (And while I'm at it, /pats self on back.)
I've always liked him. I may eat crow about something else, but not Kyle. It's early, but he looks like an All Star.
Man Lowry is BALLIN'. I really wanted him on my fantasy team. Damn the guy who took it before my pick.
The guy that deserves all the credit is the poster on here who was messing with him on twitter saying he should work on his jump shot instead of playing call of duty. Something click after that cause he has his jump shot working ever since.
Nah, that guy was just a jerk. Lowry was probably working on his shot before that moron said anything.
My thoughts on how Brooks got so overrated. Brooks played great in the 2009 playoffs when we beat Portland and took the Lakers to 7. His stock went sky high and rightfully so because his success on national tv and flashy plays that made sportscenter. The rest of the nba inflated view on brooks. He didn't translate that playoff success into consistent regular season success because of his streaky scoring ability and lack of leadership. Morey effectively traded him when he still had good value for what he's worth.
I have to admit that I called him fat and pudgy and made mention that he couldn't hit the side of a barn. Man was I wrong. I was in the Brooks camp and that was totally wrong. Well played.... I'll happily admit that I was totally wrong and I should've been fired as coach if I had been a coach who made a decision like that. I wasn't too high on Sammy this off-season either, but wow is he a man on a mission. Hopefully I can be happy again this season.
What about Dragic then? He played huge on an even bigger stage. I guess they were traded for each other, but since Dragic was the bench guy where Aaron started, we ended up getting a first round pick out of it (which ended up becoming Donuts if I'm not mistaken, minus a second-rounder). Brooks' value got inflated just like Darren Collison's value got inflated the year he was on the Hornets. Or JJ Barea's after last offseason. I know there's a role for speedy little guards in the NBA, and we've got another now in Flynn. Nonetheless, I can't bring myself to get completely behind one because their shortcomings (pun intended) on the defensive end will always have to be accounted for. Give me a beefy PG like Lowry any day of the week. Beefier is better.
That injury kinda messed up Brooks. At the game tonight vs San Antonio, I prayed that Manu didn't end someones career here at Houston.
One of the few threads I've ever started in the GARM http://bbs.clutchfans.net/showthread.php?t=163642&highlight=quietly
I'm hoping there is a thread like this about Thabeet some day! But I would settle for a Jordan Hill haters eat crow thread.
Yeah I will gladly eat my words. For the record I have bashed Budinger tons, bashed Scola and Martin's defense (although in truth I only want Scola benched in favor of Patterson, with Scola coming off the bench Manu 6th man style), and bashed Jordan Hill and Thabeet moderately. I will own up if any of those guys improves beyond my expectations.
