I didn't say you have to like them or not.
I didn't predict any playoff series either.

you went nuts when I said they were a top team.

here's my evidence they are a top team.

    this year.

before this game, they were undefeated and drubbed the much hyped Clippers.

    last year.
    they won 61 games.

I completely stand by my statement that they are TOP TEAM.
I'm awaiting your LOGICAL explanation on why they are not a TOP TEAM.

Good for you. And I did not went nuts......maybe overreacted a bit
I couldn't care less what they are....... Until you think they think they can win without Duncan....then you might be right....
Duncan scored 10, 10 and 4 today.....really overwhelming numbers....well you can still think he is the Duncan of old if you want
Without their leader I don't think they can win on an elite level....that is just logic.....and winning 61 games did not warrant them anything......they lost in Round 2

Well we're playing them in the regular season now. Not sure why you're hating on the Spurs, they are one of the best teams the past decade. Also Spurs have 3 rings, Miami and Thunder have 0. Let's see those teams win something first before you start making judgements esp. since Miami and OKC are so fragile, injuries to Durant and James/Wade/Bosh will turn them to a lottery team instantly.

I said when we signed him that he makes us a solid 5-6 seed.

lol because I call them old.....is hating?
then I don't know what real hating is .....
See......old dynasties go and younger comes....this is a natural cycle......I am just embracing it.
I did not say Spurs are crap or mediocre.......in that regard

Glory past bites you in the ass..... I know tinman and you perhaps are living in the past...I did not know it was so alarming......

What does a Sammy Dalembert thread have to do with the spurs and their center?

you have shown zero evidence that my statement was wrong.

you have confused real life results with your perception of what the Spurs are..

Therefore, I am right, the Spurs are a TOP TEAM based on this current season and last season. They are the defending division leaders... And we are in that division.

But go on with your Spurs rant, you can tell people that you hate Taco Cabana and Selena and Puffy Tacos too,

that doesn't change that the Spurs are a TOP team.
you don't have to hate the Spurs to prove your Rockets fandom.

    HAHA...right.

Look, don't agree with the direction signified by signing Sammy but the signing itself was fantastic. A motivated Dalembert is going to make this squad a playoff team as opposed to a 9th seed...can't complain with that.

He went ballistic after I mentioned that the Spurs are a top team. The team we beat today.

Apparently there's only 3 top teams in the NBA.

You don't have to hate 'em of course. I am with you. But it's a PLUS if you do.

I don't need evidence that Duncan is declining, steady and very fast, physically.......
I don't know what your problem is because I said
    Miami, Chicago, Thunder were top
Spurs,Lakers,Dallas are behind them.a tad... which is not so bad...and it is actually what you said ....you just rant because you want to......

I like him, he is fearless. I love him for loving the game and enjoying himself. He might be the 2nd most important pickup in Houston this year besides Wade Phillips.

what the hell does lebron have to do with this?

I'm not doing anything I'm explaining to people why this thread veered off course. It's cause I said the Spurs were a top team.

My statement is correct because your pool of top teams was only 3. there's like 30 teams in the league.

The median is 15. I'm pretty sure they are above that.

You didn't not see I was half kidding did you?
Spurs are what they are....and they are not what they used to be....that is all....

My recollection of Dalembert was when he started out in Philly as a rookie. He plays a lot bigger now than he used to back in the day. And his shotblocking/altering totally changes the complexion of the defense. The one play where he blocked I think Blair twice and got called erroneously for a foul was really impressive since last year if we made a defensive stop and didn't get the board it was an automatic bucket. This year, even if we don't get the boards, we have a chance to stop them again--which helps psychologically.

Also, it's important to know that Dalembert may be underrated for playing for bad teams in Philly and Sac. Maybe this was a moneyball move.
